He didn't come home last night...

Well the latest is, he's stable... They're keeping him comfortable with fluids and painkillers... But because we live out of their area they won't treat him any further than that unless his condition deteriorates... They're willing to keep him over the bank holiday and on Tuesday will release him into the care of our own vets... I have arranged someone to take me over to collect him, just need to ring the vet first thing Tuesday and see that they will take him...
The lady on the phone was quite positive though... She said he was awake and sitting funny which is why they suspect his pelvis, but said it could just be bruising... Without an xray they can't be sure... Hubby is going over there tomorrow and taking a cushion he likes to sleep on so he know's he's not forgotten, and they've said we can keep ringing and checking on his progress...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Do you have pet insurance? If so, no need to wait till Tuesday, just phone the emergency vet number and ask their advice (you could do this anyway, but without insurance it could be very expensive)I'm a retired employment solicitor. Hopefully some of my comments might be useful, but they are only my opinion and not intended as legal advice.0

Poor puss, hope he's ok. Glad you had him micro-chipped or you might never have heard anything & always been wondering what happened to him. Hope it's a happy ending.0

No insurance Daisy... It's just one of those things we were working towards... We had him neutered and chipped (like you say sweetserendipity, thank goodness!) last month and he only just started going out about 2 or 3 weeks ago... Only during the day and rarely out of our garden... Last night was just one of those random occurances... It's going to be a costly random occurance... But he's worth it! And we'll definitely be insuring him once he's all sorted out... Although hubby is insisting he'll never be let out again at the minute...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...My Fathers Daughter wrote: »Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Thank goodness he's stable, you'll just want to be with him now won't you?
...Linda xxIt's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0 -

I hope your little one gets better soon and I agree with your OH....i'd not let him out for a very long while once he gets home, poor thing

the same thing happened to our cat, she was the same age. she got hit by a car and managed to drag herself back to our house. she had fractured her pelvis but with being young luckily it healed by itself...... it cost me £160 in the end, but worth every penny...spanky xx

My first cat came my way when I found her in the road and it turned out she had a broken pelvis.
She walked with a bit of a limp and the vet said she had lost some mobility so I should consider having her as an indoor cat because she might not be able to get out of the way of cars/dogs/other cats as quickly as she would need to.
Hence a happy life of luxury indoors!!0 -
Thank goodness it sounds as if he's going to be ok. Am really relieved. I panic if our puss dosen't come back straight away when I call her even though she only really goes into our back garden and our neighbours!!! Am still terrified that one day she'll get inquisitive and end up wandering into the road. Wish there was some way you could teach cats road sense!!! Let us know how he gets on.loobylou2.Proud to be dealing with my debts and aiming to sort out the mess in 2013!!!!:eek:0
