He didn't come home last night...

Our very cute tabby cat took a chance last night and legged it after bed time... He's about 12 months old, recently been neutered and chipped and has only been going outside a short while... Usually during the day he pops in and out but can often be found lying on our bed... Always have the cats in and the house locked up by 9pm but last night we discovered a hedgehog in the garden and while hubby was out watching it Mr Tabson went off exploring...
We decided to leave to window open (their usual entry/exit point) and rather than shut the other 2 up in the kitchen we gave them full run of the house... Now the oldest is used to going out and she never goes far... The middle kitty is just a month or so older than Mr Tabson and quite skittish... She pops in and out too and last night took advantage of the window being open for a while but eventually settled down in her own bed to sleep anyway... But Mr Tabson just hasn't been back at all... (Or if he did, we didn't notice)
We've been up a couple of hours now and I'm getting a little nervous that he still hasn't appeared yet... Keep kicking his food bowl as that's what usually gets them all running back... But nothing... Should we be doing anything? Or should we just wait for him to come home? Hubby's been and had a wander round but no sign of him...

A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...

sometimes cats can unexpectedly take themselves off for a few days and then come home like nothings happened. try not to worry, im sure hes just off having an adventure. if you're really feeling uneasy perhaps u could call round the local vets to see if anyone has took him in. it might help put your mind at rest. i hope he comes home soon. What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0

i heard this once..
"dogs come when they're called.......cats take a message and get back to you"What matters most is how well you walk through the fire0 -
Reminds me of one I heard... You never see a homeless person with a cat...picklepick wrote: »i heard this once..

I've always had cats and know their habits, I think Miss Shmokes has lulled me into a false sense of security with her near agoraphobia... She never ventures far at all... Unfortunately, the last Tom I had decided to take himself off... I still see him around now and again but he completely blanks me now... My poor hubby who has no cat experience has been practically pacing the floors all night... It's very hard to to catch his paranoia...A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... OK, so the RSPCA just rang to say he got hit by a car last night and they think he has a broken pelvis... We're trying to sort out a lift to Birmingham to see if it's him and find out what happens next

...Linda xxIt's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.0
