where are my manners? - welcome Nadine!

Fay I had problems finding kudzu online at H&B, it doesn't come up under k in the A-Z, I think I searched it in the end (can't remember, just know I had probs but I wasn't buying just looking to see if on offer). What a waste of a sentence, no help at all! Not wasting the effort though!!

My friend who said she has an alch free house immed told me she had a couple of bottle in  when I got there but FOR ONCE I stuck to my guns, it being only day 2 & I can't keep on giving in at the slightest provocation! But then we talked for an hour about our drinking which made me want one more & more!! She's the only person who knows how much I drink & vice versa; she's interested in this forum I am debating having someone I know well on here; is that selfish? I reckon she'd soon guess which is me, so to speak!! On the other hand I'm not relating anything on here she doesn't know anyway - what would you guys do, please?

Anyways, have made it through the danger zone, so Budgie pls put me down for 2 afds, thank you. Sterling work by the way - it must be exhausting!! But hugely appreciated.

ETA: MP seems you're still around today I haven't wished you a good holiday & I'm not sure when you go; I know you've had some wobbles & this probably feels like a big one coming but don't let it spoil your fun - the soft drinks are free too & probably cost more (you can work on that one!)

Fay & Fluffy: to be a bit more helpful re kudzu....i went into H&B home page & can't find it at all via that route, but oddly, if you google kudzu there is a link to it at H&B!! £7.99. See how you get on with that way?

Tough one mate. When I joined up I started a new name specially for this site because I had told so many of my friends and family who also joined up who I was that there certain characters on here that I knew would abuse the knowledge of my confessions:rolleyes: So I would ask you do you 100% trust her? (sounds like you do if you talk so openly) and vice versa. The difference for you I guess is that you have similar issues whereas the people I was hiding from would have never admitted they had any drink issues despite having full on ones  I would have put my job at risk as well if the general word got out that I had admitted to drinking too much. By the way the old name I used has as good as disappeared now so I guess it was all a bit pointless:rotfl: but at the time I felt safer with my anonymous friends on here :A sorry for the waffle bet you are sorry you asked

    now:rotfl:

Is it just me or does anyone find Cain dingle strangely attractive:o

Apprentice tonight with a crunchie bar and a cuppa (jealous aren't you all come on admit it:D:D)

    8 please BB sweety

Sorry meant to say :hello: :hello: to nadine

    Hello nadine and welcome

Good to have you on board :D

As maman said, we are cutter downers too :D We sit next to each other on the naughty bench most weekends and try to keep our weekend drinking moderate, but there is room for another one on the bench on Fridays & Saturdays :D

Like you, I was drinking a bottle of wine a day and more at my very worse  I managed to cut down to 3/4 bottle a day but that was still way too much so after lurking for ages I joined in the monthly targets here :D I couldn't manage more than 1 or 2 nights AF before coming here so take heart from that. I now only drink at weekends and I never thought I could do it :D

I had loads of weight to lose too. I have lost 5 stone now, but still have 2.5 to go to be a size 10-12 which is what I am aiming at [from a size 20-22!!!] Cutting out the wine has helped me lose weight too.

Good luck with your target :D

Thanks for all the welcomes, I'll look forward to joining the cutter downers on the bench!

So far so good this week and all set for a good evening, been out for a 10 min jog, done some yoga on the wii fit and some revision for psychology exams coming up so keeping my mind occupied.

Hope everyone else has a good evening
    xx

Edit - Well done on your weight loss so far fluffy

    Morning all
BHB well done - Happy birthday for yesterday Dotstar

Me - um well - went the the supermarket to see if there were any 'bargains' and got a few reduced things and thought well you know what I am so tired maybe I can have a wee can or two of wine (drink less of those than if its a bottle)

Got round anohter couple of aisles and htought about how much I had to do and wieght still teetering 9st5 still....argh

PUT WINE BACK ON SHELF bought some lovely fresh cherry juice stuff instead

I so neary caved but thought about how hard it was to stop again after even a nght on the wine. And the wine went back. Thought mainly about how crap I would feel today if I had drunk and how much I would have beaten myself up about it

So woke up this morning - well was woken up by the sorest most stonking headache I have ever had in ages. NOT impressed.

Paraceatamol and water being guzzled . Hope you lot are doing better than me!

    So 12 days so far

Fay , very well done for not giving in to the urge !"

    Is that 40sm volunteering? :D

Well I've managed to squeeze thro a pub lunch on diet coke, next the challenge of haircut at my mate's house; usually involves a bottle of wine but as said yest. have asked her not to offer me one so here's crossing fingers.

As an aside, had eye test this morning - would you believe that despite the HUNDREDS of bottles of wine consumed during the period I've had the same pair of contact lenses for 4 1/2 years!!!!!!! Can you believe I've never lost one? - there's been a few on-the-edge-of-the-plughole or "nobody go in the bathroom" moments though!

    See y'all later x

I so Knew that by saying that - I would be volunteering:eek:

I will take the post if no-one else volunteers. But be warned - I will be hopeless.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
