    Budgie ,
You will be a hard act to follow :T

    40SM

    Is that 40sm volunteering? :D

Well I've managed to squeeze thro a pub lunch on diet coke, next the challenge of haircut at my mate's house; usually involves a bottle of wine but as said yest. have asked her not to offer me one so here's crossing fingers.

As an aside, had eye test this morning - would you believe that despite the HUNDREDS of bottles of wine consumed during the period I've had the same pair of contact lenses for 4 1/2 years!!!!!!! Can you believe I've never lost one? - there's been a few on-the-edge-of-the-plughole or "nobody go in the bathroom" moments though!

    See y'all later x

Hello all, Hope you are all having a lovely day. Still no AF days for me yet, I am a disgrace. I didnt even pick up a glass until 10pm last night. Weekend when I thought I was good I wasnt even though I didnt really stay out late on Saturday. I'm off to see my hypnotherapist tonight, the lovely lady sorts out my stress like the marvel she is, so I am going to ask her to stick a bit in about the wine :-) Tonight I am determined that this will be my first AF day.

    Hi there

I have just finished reading this thread (started yesterday - when I should be working) and raelly admire all your efforts.

A bit about me, I'm 34 and I probably drink on average a bottle of wine every day - more at weekends. This started about 12 years ago when I split up and moved out from an ex and thought it would be very grown up to buy wine and have a glass or two after work. The rest is history as they say.

Now, whilst I don't want to give up completely I am struggling with my weight (need to lose 5 stone), am trying unsuccessfully for a baby with OH (who also drinks alot) and have frequent arguments with OH over trivial things. I also struggle with mild depression and the one thing all these have in common is alcohol.

I want to aim to only have alcohol on a Friday or Saturday evening and even then in moderation.

So can I join please and put myself down for 15 AFD for the remainder of May - Mon & Tues this week have been AFD so can I be cheeky and count these and be on 2 AFD so far.

    xx

Hi Nadine and welcome. I'm sure our wonderful scorer Budget Babe will add you to our list, she's a very obliging lady.

You've come to the right place for help and support, this thread is excellent. Lots of our virtual friends are in the 'giver-up' category but people like me and fluffy jump on and off the wagon as we are 'cutters-down'. Good luck, anything you need just ask!

Yes WB, wooden horse is nearly completed but they won't leave me to build it alone so I can't do a sneaky post (well except for this one ;).

Fay, you know I just love sending you parcels but unfortunately live nowhere near a H&B, but I can send you some of mine tonight if you want, I got over half a bottle? ETA: your postie is going to get very worried about you receiving strange leaves and drugs through the post....

Nadine, welcome, tis a lovely place, they are all nuts, but somehow that makes me feel safe and secure  :rotfl: good luck with your cutting down, keep posting :)

Oh poo....scary office manager back :(

    bye!!!

    Hello nadine and welcome

Good to have you on board :D

As maman said, we are cutter downers too :D We sit next to each other on the naughty bench most weekends and try to keep our weekend drinking moderate, but there is room for another one on the bench on Fridays & Saturdays :D

Like you, I was drinking a bottle of wine a day and more at my very worse  I managed to cut down to 3/4 bottle a day but that was still way too much so after lurking for ages I joined in the monthly targets here :D I couldn't manage more than 1 or 2 nights AF before coming here so take heart from that. I now only drink at weekends and I never thought I could do it :D

I had loads of weight to lose too. I have lost 5 stone now, but still have 2.5 to go to be a size 10-12 which is what I am aiming at [from a size 20-22!!!] Cutting out the wine has helped me lose weight too.

Good luck with your target :D
