    Morning all
BHB well done - Happy birthday for yesterday Dotstar

Me - um well - went the the supermarket to see if there were any 'bargains' and got a few reduced things and thought well you know what I am so tired maybe I can have a wee can or two of wine (drink less of those than if its a bottle)

Got round anohter couple of aisles and htought about how much I had to do and wieght still teetering 9st5 still....argh

PUT WINE BACK ON SHELF bought some lovely fresh cherry juice stuff instead

I so neary caved but thought about how hard it was to stop again after even a nght on the wine. And the wine went back. Thought mainly about how crap I would feel today if I had drunk and how much I would have beaten myself up about it

So woke up this morning - well was woken up by the sorest most stonking headache I have ever had in ages. NOT impressed.

Paraceatamol and water being guzzled . Hope you lot are doing better than me!

    So 12 days so far

  • Good morning everybody

I hope everybody is feeling well and happy. I've taken my kudzu tablets today, but as I have just finished a project which took lots of time and concentration, I know that tonight the wine bells are going to start clanging and clanging with relief (work addiction to be replaced by alcohol addiction). I don't want to give in though and will try to tell myself that I will feel horrendous tomorrow all day. I really hope this will work. At the moment I feel great, with 9 AFDs :Tand the last thing I want to do is drink.

Putting some nice Schloer in the fridge in anticipation. Any tips from all my lovely friends? Oh, and I've got another project waiting to be started ...

PIR - if I have succumbed to the wine bells on a day that was supposed to be AF then the next day I have felt so angry with myself and had such a carp day in all because I let myself down that I am learning that it is just not worth it
I allow myself 3 drinking nights a week [was every night before] and if I stick to those i feel really pleased with myself but if you give in then the bad feelings it gives you just outweigh the temporary 'feel good' effects of the alcohol

    Just my two pennorth ;)

Sparky, the first couple of days being alcohol free I feel like I've been hit by a bus, not ill, but exhausted and drained, but proud :D keep it up, it does get better :) well done :T

I am feeling like carp today I feel tired and headachy and no alcohol to blame for it. (I know it is drinking alcohol that has made me feel like this and my body is just screaming out for more!:o:p)

I don't know if I will be AF today but I'm hoping I will.

Hope you lot are all okay.:A

    Hi there

I have just finished reading this thread (started yesterday - when I should be working) and raelly admire all your efforts.

A bit about me, I'm 34 and I probably drink on average a bottle of wine every day - more at weekends. This started about 12 years ago when I split up and moved out from an ex and thought it would be very grown up to buy wine and have a glass or two after work. The rest is history as they say.

Now, whilst I don't want to give up completely I am struggling with my weight (need to lose 5 stone), am trying unsuccessfully for a baby with OH (who also drinks alot) and have frequent arguments with OH over trivial things. I also struggle with mild depression and the one thing all these have in common is alcohol.

I want to aim to only have alcohol on a Friday or Saturday evening and even then in moderation.

So can I join please and put myself down for 15 AFD for the remainder of May - Mon & Tues this week have been AFD so can I be cheeky and count these and be on 2 AFD so far.

    xx
