It took me ages to read back through the posts!
My BMI is 24.9 so I am just in the normal weight range for my height. At least that cheered me up a bit.:jHOUSE MOVE FUND £16,000/ £19,000

I'm doing really badly, and now feeling crap because of it.
I drunk alot yesterday and yet again made a prat of myself. I don't think that cutting down works for me, i think that i'm going to have to go for complete abstinence. It just doesn't work, cause once i've had one drink i carry on. I've defo been on a bingeing bender and am suffering for it. I've got loads of uni work to do and i'm behind with loads of that. I'm feeling really low but i know that's the alcohol in my system. I've ruined today by just being ill. I can't carry on doing this to myself. I'm an embarrasment again.0 -
Hello again, (think thats a song, is it not?)
Just checking into see more updates? (Oh the pressure)
115k try not to feel down you still have plenty of time to clock up some more af days. Re: the weight issue it is by far the most dissapointment for myself as I felt sure if I gave up the red wine that I would be a stone lighter, sadly this is not the case and I am now on month 5  But I am concentrating on the health benefits and I have been able to cut down on one of my blood pressure tablets so thats a positive. So stay strong and try for the rest of the month to cut down, post on here more to get the support and I have also found reading through the old posts has helped me too. So good luck and take care. Hugs xxxxxxxxx
Fluffy B glad to see you are about and ok, I shall be cracking Dear Old Mollys whip next weekThough I am sure you will be fine. Enjoy the rest of today and take care. xxxxxxxxxxxx
Bhb nice to see you are about toojust please make sure that radiator you are trying to get is not an electric one  and if it is too cold just try dipping your toe in
Hugs matey and take care xxxxxxxxx
Dear Lurky I can see you have been about and as you have not posted I guess my dear you are still on 3. I of course will let you off as it is the weekend and you have been toiling in your garden. But BEWARE Molly's whip will be out next week. I feel its time for: NO MORE MR NICE GUY (OR GIRL). Its getting hotter in the kitchen, or garden, or pool or wherever everyone is :rotfl: Hugs matey and take care xxxxxxxxxx
Annie D thankyou for your kind words :A re: the headaches I am not sure but I guess the alcohol will be coming out of your system? Perhaps others may be able to help more. Though you will start to feel better I am sure. Hugs and take care xxxxxxxxxxxx
Maz hugs sweetheart and I do hope things get better for you. I can relate to not just stopping at one drink and going way overboard, that is why I haven't had a drink yet. It will only help you if you try and abstain especially as you have uni work to do. You are sounding quite stressed so please do post more and get the support that you need. Can I ask what course are you taking? Please do take care and look after yourself. I know being at uni is not easy with the work load you have to do. My Ds graduated last year and we went down the weekend before he was coming home to get some of his belongings, it was the start of a week of exams for him and I was so very upset at how tired and drained he looked. So Angel (((()))) big hugs and do please look after yourself. xxxxxxxxxxx
Btw all this Gerodie/Scottish talk take me back to January when Dear ole Lurky did the scoring, you know the times he went on about his: STOTTIE CAKE. Happy days xxxxx
Hope everyone else is ok and I shall edit as required my Dear May Members. :A
Love n hugs xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxCherish the ones you love and travel back on the road that brings you home

I was just wondering if I had posted this - its like looking in the mirror. So to speak.
Do you remember my post from about 2 1/2 weeks back it was just about exactly the same.
I am behind at work so much my studying is underthreat - hence the long writing now.
I know if I have one drink I will invariablly have a bottle at least. Which then leads ot several weeks of no AF nights. I am not sure I have very much control over my intake when I have just one drink even. And if I do drink and don't drink too much it takes me at least a week or so to stop those bells clanging my head off.
I am slowly but surely beginning to wonder if I can actually have another glass of wine, I dont really drink it for the taste, and I only get the feeling I want after 2-3 glasses.
Scary thoughts
So hugs to you - tomorrow a brand new shiney day and you won't be feeling so low then xxxx Dont beat yourself up too much - tis done and think about some uni work - even if you just make a list of whats needing done and then prioritise it on the list - go to sleep and have a good start at it tomorrow xx
YOu can keep me company as I attempt to finish my literature review _ i have been 'attempting' to finish it for over 8 months now. Whoops
PS Its just gone six here and nowhere to buy alcohol now - woo hoo now I can't be tempted I know that sounds so sad but my bells clang until shop closing time:oTotal debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Fay - my only contribution to this Scottish dialect is 'lang may your lum reek' written by my Scottish grandfather in my autograph book when I was 7 years old. My family on mum's side hail from Arbroath, although I haven't been there since I was 8 years old. There is still such a strong sense of belonging though.
Hope you have all had a good weekend.
Thank you all again for this lovely thread and your support (and I haven't even won an Oscar!!!!)

Lillibet my Dear who would think such a thing?xxxxxx
However it will be votes that wins the prize :T The prize is on a well being theme though I think it will probably be more suited to a female, but if a male does win then I will of course adapt
So everyone it is time for an extra push as we know points win prizes
However special hugs to Jo who is tackling her Jungle (Her own words, I wasn't being rude). :T xxxxxxxxx

I can relate to everything you said.
I didn't drink everyday, but I found it extremely hard to stop when I had that first drink. What (I think) MollyPolly has on her signature is so true "One drink is too many, one thousand is not enough"
If I controlled my drinking, I couldn't enjoy it. If I wanted to enjoy it, it was out of control.
Thus abstinence. Every time I had a drink I thought that this time will be different, just have a few and go home. It rarely worked out like that.
I admitted to myself I had a real problem after many years of this behaviour, and sought help for my alcoholism. Now I don't have that first drink. Without the first, I don't have the second, third, eleventh, etc
All the best - my embarrassing behaviour stopped when I stopped drinking, and it has been one of the best things I have ever done.0
