Big fight shame really as holiday has been awesome.

We made it up today phew. Af day for me now - home at 11.30

    Afternoon all!

Hi Fay! :hello: Don't beat yourself up over it. Old habits die hard. Just be pleased you've made it up with OH.

Re the Glastonbury thing - can't imgaine why ANYONE wants to go!:rotfl:I'm not into all this camping stuff. Don't like it when I have to traipse across a field to go to the loo and can you believe theres no plugs for hairdryers in tents!?

Jo - well done on resisting the pull of the Stella. Best get shot of it quick!

69Chick - Pinot Grigio was my wine of choice. Only I used to go for the 12% varieties! How are those kiddies of yours now. Are they feeling better??

We had a nice morning. We took my step-son for a snowboarding lesson at a dry ski slope. Quite funny watching him fall over....Piglet shouted "WELL DONE!!!" every time he landed on his bum!:rotfl::rotfl:. On way home though I developed a stinking headache. Went to bed when we got back and it seemed to go. Have a feeling it may be caffeine withdrawl as I normally have a few cups of tea or coffee in the morning. Think I may have to ease myself onto decaffienated!:rotfl:

Hope everyone is ok. Its a nice afternoon here so hopefully you all have the same weather and are enjoying a relaxing Sunday afternoon!

    Miss P

Hi everyone. No time at the moment to catch up on the posts - will come back in the next day or so.

In the meantime I notched up another AFD on Friday, so am now on 9 AFDs please Jo. Thank you so much for my 'jumpy' - however consumed far too much yesterday, but have decided to put it behind me and carry on. Am hoping to be AF today, but may end up with a glass when we get back home tonight. I've offered to drive, so can't drink whilst out - which will help.

Hope you're all having lovely weekends.

    Helloooooooooooo everyone :hello:

Budgie feels in a very good mood today, don't know why it maybe because I am going to visit London and see my Darling Son :) Btw he owes me a curry in Brick Lane, long story but I travelled down last year when he was moving to pay for his lease/deposit etc. It was when all the rail works were taking place, we arrived at 4pm after setting off at 11am. I paid over the said money we then had a meal in Wetherspoons and then we were back on the 6,20pm train  got home at 11pm on a replacement bus  so a very expensive day for a Spoons meal, which I could of got in Dear Old Stokie Land :rotfl:

Budgie now stamps her feet strongly :j as I wanted a curry in Brick Lane. My Ds got Mr Bb some motor show tickets and he went on his own last year as I had to work  You have guessed it they had the said curry in Brick Lane ;)

    Sorry I do sound spoilt don't I? :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
    But I was cheated ;)

    Anyway I digress

Fay lovely to hear from you sorry to hear of your troubles but it does seem to be sorted now? As Dear Miss P says: "old habits die hard" it is such a true saying and one we must be aware of. But it really has not been the same without you. So glad you are back and as I said in an earlier post I hope it has helped you to get things into perspective especially on the work front? Big hugs and lots of love and welcome home. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

40sm I am a little worried about you, you know ;) I can see that you have been about but are not posting  Is everything ok? Budgie just needs to know that you are alright? Hugs Angel and lots of Budgie love. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Eselt hope you saw the grand prix? Poor Rubenio was very upset and his comments were quite out of character. My Ds picked up on the fuel rigging problem way before the BBc did. He also won a £100 for betting that Alonso would do the fastest lap at a 100 to 1. He is a lucky boy :T I wish I had had a bet too ;) Hugs sweetheart and lots of love xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

    Hi Budgie :hello:

I am so glad you are feeling better . I have been worried about you my little angel . The curry sounds fab. Can I come too ? I can be in london within the hour :p.

Please don't worry about me ... I am fine. I have been a bit naughty on the wine front over the last few days though and am feeling a bit guilty .... must get back on track this week . Kids are all doing well . DS2 lost a tooth on Friday so we have had a visit from the tooth fairy AGAIN this weekend :T. On one occasion(sp?) a few months back she had to to pay DS1 & DS2 a visit on the same night . That is what happens when you have kids 17 mths apart.:p The little one still has all his teeth in tack but one is decidely wobbly so it is only a matter of time before the tooth fairy is back.;)

    Have a lovely evening.

    Hi all,

Need a bit of advice . DS1 really really wants a dog. I think it would be good for him (he is the slightly autistic one) . DH does not really do dogs but quite likes spaniels . Are spaniels good with kids ?

    Hi Sweetheart,

Glad to hear that you are ok :A

As you are not far from London does that mean you know brick lane well? I know I have a brick lane obsession :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I must get a grip

Re: the dog issue? Sorry I don't know much about spaniels  though I can tell you that my Ds was 13 when we had our lovely Toby, Mr BB was very against the idea. However he was out voted, we all love our little Westie but strangely it is Mr BB who is the most devoted to him :confused:

So you see your husband may just turn out to be the same?

But yes I think it will be very good for all your boys especially your Ds1, it helps I feel that they will have something to be responsible for and dogs give so much love and companionship too.

You do have to think carefully though as you have to factor in pet insurance, boosters, food etc. We also have our Westie cut every 6 weeks. Not to mention making sure they are not on their own too long as well?

They are a massive responsibilty but truly worth it, our Toby goes everywhere with us and he is such a mardy boy too. Bless :A

Sorry I have waffled on without shedding any light on spaniels :rotfl::rotfl:

Why don't you go to the local libary and get some books on the different dogs? We settled for a westie as they are just the right size ;)

Lots of love Angel and I hope that it all works itself out, but your boys would love a little dog I am sure ;)

Though just a thought, should you not get a female dog? Well it would help balance things out a little bit as you have an all male household apart from yourself :rotfl::rotfl:

    Thanks Budgie

Unfortunately I don't know Brick lane really but am willing to learn for the sake of a good curry:rotfl::rotfl: . I don't live in London but it only takes 45 mins on the train.

On the dog front .... funnily enough we are also considering a westie . A female would be good - 2 scottish woman in a house full of englishmen:T:T.

    Hi,

Hope everyone's had a good weekend.

Have been low level drinking pretty much every day this month so need a break.
AF today so that's me on 3 now please Jo. Am going to declare 6 though as I'm determined to be AF Mon-Wed and I feel the only way to make it happen is to say it 'out loud' on here so there'ts no going back.

We have 4 dogs, border collie, doberman, springer spaniel, grand basset griffon vendeen - all brilliant with the kids.

Most dogs are fine from a puppy - if you treat them right. I have to say though, we have two rehomed dogs. Rehomed dogs can be a bit unpredictable - our doberman quivers in the corner when we get the BBQ out - I hate to think what happened to her in a previous life when the BBQ was out ! .
I know we are her third keepers, and the first owners gave her to the second owners in a drunken session in a pub. We got her through the second families relations. You don't normally get to know the past that well.

The Spaniel was kicked in the head, quite badly before we got her and obviously beaten regularly. Even then she is really gentle with the kids.

Our DS (the one with ASD/Aspergers) is joined at the hip with the Grand Bassett, but the breed is a real pain in the bum, being a hunting hound, as you can't let her off the lead .... we normally find her holding a rabbit waiting for us to take it off her ........ after a 2 mile run to catch up

Its best really to get a dog that will go with your lifestyle and think about how much time you have for attention and exercise.

This is a good link to help you decide:

    http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/search.htm

Our springer spaniel would be a great choice but they do need a lot of work and attention. But DS loves them all ;)

    Hope that Helps
