Thanks Winebox my thoughts will be with you.It going to be hard for me because OH is going around all day with the hang dog expression making me want to reach for the wine.Thank goodnes for this forum.I need to stay focussed and strong and not reach for my crutch.

Hit him over the head with the bottle instead of drinking it :D that'll give him something to look hangdog about & remove your temptation. Hang on in there tonight!
  • Hi everyone

16 for me pls 40SM - thanks again for doing this job :A

I have some more definitions of alcohol problems for you to mull over: I moderated a couple of focus groups of GPs/psychiatrists a few years ago on alcohol dependence - it was for one of those medications which helps you to abstain otherwise you get horrendous side effects.

Basically, they said that if you need to drink at all, you are alcohol dependent. I need my pinot grigio on a Sat night so I am alcohol dependent (having cut down in a major way and no longer having anything during the week). A little old lady who has one small glass of sherry per night is alcohol dependent.

Then there are the alcohol abusers. So that's when you have more than the allowed no of units in one evening. So I suppose that I'm both alcohol dependent and alcohol abuser cos I have more than 1-2 glasses on Sat. Oh dear.

Anyway, must go, I'm off to our local Somerfield which is being changed to a Coop so they are having a sale, and the checkout girl told me on Sunday to try tonight for some bargains.

I'm saving approx £40-50 per month now due to cutting back on wine. This is paying for a cleaning company to come once per month for 3 hours - more expensive than Fay's cleaner at £15 per hour, but the best I could find. But I love it when they have been and everywhere is lovely and clean without me having to do it myself. It is a real treat - and we're supposed to be treating ourselves aren't we?

Have a great evening everybody, bi for now

Can you put me down for 17 AFD please 40sm when you are ready?

No chance of wanting a drink today, tonight or tomorrow :D

Today have been off work and busy flying (cleaning) and decluttering. Very pleased at the progress made, still lots of decluttering to go!

Tomorrow going on another leaving do (another one! what does that say about where I work eh?)

Driving to the work do and feel happy about this then back after the danger time, and the forum should be back up and running at that time.

Desparately need some more compost tomorrow for later potatoes and work out what to do with the cucumber plant which was a lovely present from my friend

Not getting into the alco debate as it really p*ssed me off last time a few months ago, so will leave it at that for now.

Onwards and upwards guys, hang on tight for the ride :rotfl:

    :t :t :t :d

If you put everything in capitals, MSE will kindly convert them to lower case for you, therefore smileys will not work if the only ones you use are upper case and you don't put any text in

To get round it, type something :) (in lower case obviously ;))

Techie lesson over for today :D

    Evening all

Sorry guys for starting the "Labels" debate again. I promise to shut up now :rotfl: Just a subject that interests me (mainly interested in whether or not I'm deluding myself:rotfl::rotfl:)

Won't be AF tonight - OH bought me a bottle of wine as have had a carp week one way or another and thought it might cheer me up.

Friday tomorrow - woohoo! Got to do my Mrs Mop job for my SIL tomorrow but then its downhill to the weekend!

Have good fridays everyone and sorry if I annoyed anyone by harping on the alcoholic subject earlier.

I haven't been around much as I have only had 3 days AF this month!

I have managed to lose 8 lbs though so my weightloss target is definitely achieved for this month.:j I'm hoping to lose a bit more before June is over.

I hope everyone is okay. :AI haven't read back through the posts yet but I probably won't read all the pages honestly.

I felt exactly the same FUAS. It started to feel like those threads on here where posters start arguing and being rude to each other - like they're saying agree with me or clear off. I didn't want to clear off because I'm smiley dependant :rotfl:

I'll shut up now, too. Just pleased to know someone else felt like me all those months ago.

I'm off to do some work. That's why I'm at the computer with my cup of tea! See you all later.

115K, how ever have you managed to lose weight and drink?? Do tell.
