How easy is Mail Merge and Powerpoint? I've seen a job advertised in my DD1's school which requires these two things, but I have no idea how to do them?? Is it summat I can blag my way through and do a quick online whizz through?
    .
    Hi

I personally find them quite easy and there are many free tutorials on the web to work through as well. I think just practicing them will get you sorted with them in no time. You could have a go today and then see? Then apply for the job?

I'll pop back for personals later, but just a quick question for those in the know....

Should I go for the job or not do you all reckon? I've only been in this school job for 18 months and do love it, but this other one is at the end of my road which means I could walk to work and save petrol, go home for lunch, the hourly rate is similar to what I'm on now but I'll be doing 2 1/2 hours more a week so 10 hours a month more money (which isn't huge so not a factor in this). I do love my current job and love my line manager and would feel bad letting her down, but as far as everyone else goes I'm not bothered, plus we have a new head and deputies in Sept so not bothered about them either....

    Please discuss.......

Powerpoint is easy and pretty self explainatory - Powerpoint for dummies or take a tutorial with the programme on (do you have power point - I assuming you do)

Mail merge - used it once or twice not too bad I dont think but am talking through my bum as I am a gardener not really a computer person

Unless you are trying to mail merge power points then I have no idea!

If a hillbilly can do powerpoint and mailmerge so can you Jo. :D

You will be able to get to grips with both in 30 minutes with a tutorial or 'dummies' book.:D

    Go for it Jo

    Sorry - can't help with that one as I don't use anything microsoft.:p :D

I'm sure if you looked at the MS website there will be something. And if you have it on your work computer maybe there is a tutorial built in ??
