    hi All,
just spend my lunch reading and catching up on all the posts. I cant do the individual thingies but nice to have a pregnancy amongst us.

40SM - there must have been something in the water/moon/air cos I had a cranky evening saturday with both DS's; aged 10 and 12. I just sent them to bed at 10pm and they slept till 10.30am - I sometimes think they are just too materialistic and demanding kids these days!!!!!

been feeling mainly bored and lonely at weekend, kids seem to come and go and I'm lucky if I see or speak to anyone; suppose drinking makes this easier but I didnt drink. Feel let down as well cos I put 3lb on!!! Am down over 1000 cals a day!! Anyway not to dwell on it... Anne am still reading the book and relating to lots of it.

HUGS for you FUAS; hard times but am sure you'll gain strength being AF.

40SM please put me down for 15 AF (including today)

    nettie
    xx

PS Didnt even need a Kudzu this weekend :T thanks to you guys x

PPS have decided am just not drinking solo anymore! which pretty much makes me teetotal!

    Hi all

Go for it Jo - how lovely to be able to walk to work, save on the commuting and earn an extra 2.5 hours too!!

WBF - sorry about the job, but well done on being close runner up and also for not drowning sorrows.

GC - thanks for your scary advice ... always makes me think ...

WB - don't know how you keep so calm about him. As for DD bringing you to tears - yup, happens to me on a fairly regular basis.

Netttie - sounds like a good resolution to me - well done for not even having a couple of glasses this weekend.

FUAS - Keep on being so strong. I wish I'd not sought solace in wine bottle many years ago when in a similar situation - might have made different decisions. But hey ho there you go

SEA - you are doing brilliantly, well done and all the best of luck

Must get on with this project (as usual!) xx

I don't mean to scare, I just write what I experienced, and the honest truth.
Truth is very powerful, which can be scary

Eldest daughter doing teacher training stuff . They said its not about how loud you shout ... It just doesn't work .... They say "Perfect the Stare " !!! That's what works.

I will try and master that one then and see if that works:rotfl::rotfl:

    What can I say?

Upset bigstyle today, trying to work through things, no more alcohol, so on 14 days now incl today.

Don't be so hard on yourself 40sm, I'm sure you are a great mum

As for me, trying to work through things in the best way I can and not block anything out by drinking. Didn't work before won't work now. Sat here in tears today. Seeing if I can hold it together to go to work this afternoon.

    Thanks FUAS:A

I hope you start to feel better soon . I know you are very sad at the moment but things WILL get better . Trust me. Be very kind to yourself !

Have a good evening and try to get lots of rest.

    Thinking of you

Hi all, still havn't managed to really catch up here yet but wanted to say hello...

Jo, as usual loads of friendly advice on here and I say definitely go for it, it soulds good to me and being so local is such an advantage..I have used mail merge and power point in the past and didn't find it too hard, found them both to be programs that you can do the basics fairly easily and then build from there so you will have no probs as you are so

40SM I totally relate to a lot of what you say with your kids, we are really worried about our ds who is 7, he is to be honest a lovely kid, but he doesn't listen to a bloomin word I say (or dh really) and we end up shouting and he ends up screaming back at us, he just hates doing as he is told  like tonight a massive set to over his spellings...we are going to try with a reward chart and also with the girls who I am afraid are going the same way......

BB I know you were poorly last time I was on, hope you are feeling better now hun x

SEA You are doing fantastic and should be sooo proud, like YM said bet your daughter loved having some nice mummy time x

Netttiiie You are doing amazing too hun, keep up the good work, think I am reading the same book as you, eating, drinking etc. It does have some really good points in it although I find myself scanning if for the personals stories as I like those bits best :o

GC you always manage to convey such a lot of great advice/comments in fairly short posts, you really are inspiring..:T

WBF sorry to hear about the job, hope something comes along soon even better for you...your lunch today sounded a lot like mine lol!

Well I have well and truly messed up...the job I really really want has closed on the NHS website early...I was waiting for my friend who already does the job to read my application and make any comments and went on to finish it today as it said closing 16th and they have closed it early  I know it did say that could happen if they had sufficient applications but I didn't expect it :o I have phoned today to try to find out if there will be another chance etc. but the lady wasn't in so hopefully she will ring me tomorrow.....I feel really stupid now though...

FUAS Hugs, you seem to be going through the mill a bit..hope things look brighter soon :grouphug:

    Hi all

    How are you all?

40SM Sorry to hear you're feeling like that - if it's any consolation I feel like that at least 5 times a day, usually more! With regards to the reward system - your eldest 2 might go for it - perhaps you could get them all to write down 'treats', such as movie night, (in the house with dvds and popcorn - borrow films from friends etc), trips to the park, half hour alone time with mum doing something, model making etc. Then pop all slips in a jar and they have to earn them through the stickers - my 14/15 yr olds at school are amazingly into their stickers lol!!! Really surprised me. WHen they've got a certain amount, get them to pull a slip of paper randomly from the jar? Sorry if this is really stupid.

I've been af noe since the 2nd of June, when I had my last drink so on 13 days now!!!!! Longest time for ages, like, really AGES. Been eating lots of sweets, as advised by AA and been going to lots of meetings. Life continues, but I'm less volatile and actually played with my daughter and her dolls house last night, which is something I wouldn't have be bothered to do before. I can make up for the time I've missed and I intend to enjoy the kids now and in the future. I've got to notice my blessings, not my problems. I've been working away at the problems, to try to make them less problematic and so far, very slowly, I am succeeding, one day at a time.

Much love and hugs to you all

    Sea xxxxxxxx

Thanks Sea for your kind words. It is so good to here that you are doing OK . Keep posting as we all love to hear from you.

    Take care

    40SM
