Miss P, I still can't quite believe I stayed up to the end of Big Brother last night, in previous series, I've always missed the last bit cos I fall asleep in the chair :rotfl:

Same here Jo, always had to watch the repeat the next day.

waiting for my wanna be lodger who thinks standing me up and being flippant by text is the way forward

:undecided oh, that doesn't sound like a match made in heaven to me!

Just dropped DS to school, it's pouring down here and had to walk cos I'm not allowed to drive on these tablets.

Also, mobile phone been cut off cos I forgot to pay the bill...oops, rung to pay the bill and the phone doesn't work, there is no sound coming out of the ear piece, so I can't even ring to arrange to get it fixed let alone get the line put back on.....no phoning, no texting and NO INTERNET

Can't use the landline as the touch tone facility doesn't work, hence if I press 1 to be put through to someone, it cuts me off!

Morning everyone. Hope you're all doing ok.

I'm having a bit of a dilemma. Have just been invited to a friend's house for dinner tomorrow. Am planning to drive, to save money (living on a pittance this month!) and to avoid temptation. Will take a bottle of wine though as a thank you and may have just a small glass with dinner. I know two of my friends will say to have a proper drink, get a taxi and just pick the car up the next day. I don't really want to have to explain all about this challenge, especially as there will also be a very high-and-mighty girl there too. Maybe that's a bit harsh, I've only met her once but I was friendly with her last time and she was quite rude, preferring to stay in her clique. Maybe she's shy.

Anyway, I know it's going to be hard to resist temptation. Also will it be worth ruining an AF day for just one glass? And will just one glass totally wreck my resolve? I guess the fact that I'm worrying about it already shows a dysfunctional relationship with alcohol. I'm thinking of trying that Kudzo(?) that I've read a bit about on this thread. Any advice? Help!

I would say if you are driving anyway don't have a drink at all.Leave your money at home so you can't get a taxi and tell your friends you are on antibiotics and cant drink if you feel that they will push you to have one. It's up to you but you are doing so well.Do you really want to spoil it for just one glass?
    Good luck whatever you decide.:D

  • The pool looks fab and you have all that space, and just think it is perfectly placed to watch Dear Mrs Bhb weeding and watering. But still I bet you let her take a break when she needs to pass you a nice cold glass of fizzy water

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Sorry to hear peeps are feeling stressed or ill ... hope things improve soon.

Hopeful, why not take a bottle of AF wine, or a bottle of AME instead. Don't let other people bully you into drinking when you don't want to

If they don't take any notice of you saying that you don't want to drink then they don't respect you. You could always tell them you are on tablets or something if you are not brave enough to argue you corner

    Just a thought

    BHB

PS. Thanks for all the lovely comments about the garden ..... Raining here so I really can;'t go out and do any weeding or tidying up. Must find something else to play with today :D

Hopeful, tell them you are detoxing this month. They will be jealous of your strong resolve! In my case, 1 glass would definately not be worth spoiling your challenge over

    Be strong! :D

MP, I am definitely right :D

BHB, sorry to hear it's raining there, but surely, if you're in a pool you'd be getting wet anyway

Right, off to make play dough
