BHB, sorry to hear it's raining there, but surely, if you're in a pool you'd be getting wet anyway

This is true .... might pop in for a splash around later this afternoon before going back to work .... tough life for us school caretakers hey?

  • Hi all :j

I'm going to be in a similar situation to you, Hopeful, on Sat - meeting old (well actually very old - since we were teenagers) friends for lunch. We meet every 6 months and it usually means having approx 2/3 bottle of wine each, but this time I really don't want to have any, I want a completely clear head. I hate walking away from the restaurant feeling in a daze. So I think I'll use the driving excuse, even though I'll be using public transport!

They know me from way back, when I used to drink loads of wine. So I really don't know how my relationship with them is going to be in the future now I'm being really sensible, and finally growing up (at the age of 50 :T)!!!

Thanks for reminding me about Mary Queen Shops, MP - I must watch that tonight - I'm actually not working for once.

I listened to the Radio 4 Frontiers programme about alcohol last night - it was really scary.

Anyway, cheer up everybody. We're all doing REALLY well so far this month! :j:j

In Junior school they tested my eyes (they did in those days) and rang my mum to come and collect me as they didn't think I was safe to walk home on my own!!!

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I can't stop laughing at this!!

:hello: to all, not much to say for myself this morning, for once! No more AFDs to report, yet (thought 40sm had too much on her plate so just being considerate).

Hope all you poorly & tired peeps feel better later on x

Playdough made and now duly walked into the carpet

We used yellow food colouring so my nails now look like I've gone back to smoking and roll my own :D or I had a curry last night and ate with my fingers :rotfl:

    Hi all !
Well I am a loooong time lurker and am finally posting as I have another hangover and am on a downer with it as always and would love
some support on this journey from you lovely lot!
I have been cutting down with the help of this thread since Oct 08,from 4-5 bottles wine per week or 1.5 litres of gin (a lot for me as I work 3 nights per week) to about 2 bottles of wine per week now.But am fed up with the way I use alcohol- pure self medication as I suffer ups and downs since PND 6 years ago and ongoing hatred of my job(positive gains of itoutweigh negatives at the mo though) And booze simply causes me to hate myself more the next day:o
Will post more as have to go an errand ,but lovely to finally post ! Can you put me down for 15 AF for June please,40SM?( Am away on hols next week so know I will drink in the evening)

What's the chance of DD2 noticing I've cleared it up and put it in the fridge for reuse and hoovered when she gets back from nursery
