Orchid 96 well done on not buying the bottle of wine :T it is hard to resist but it can be done. You do have alot of work with your little ones but I am sure they are adorable ;)

Enjoy being their Mummy, best days of my life so treasure them sweetheart.

Re: if it gets better and what to do to take your mind off it? For me it has and I haven't had a drink since New Years Eve. Though I may have some alcohol in June? I have proved that I don't need it but not sure if I want to give up forever? Some posters have been to hell and back with alcohol, I thankfully have not suffered like that. But is does make you aware of what can happen and drinking in any form needs to be controlled. Being on here has helped me and I have come to the conclusion that I have an addictive personality, my addiction is now posting on here. Oh and my posts do tend to go on a little :-)

I know you are joining the June challenge, you would be welcome to join May but we don't have many days left. Have a think and a ponder :D

Hugs to you and take care

Ps 40sm hope you are ok? Hugs to the little ones and take care. (I am worried about you though) Hugs xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

PPs more hugs to Fay xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Hi Orchid! Glad the urge surfing technique is working well for you, ride the wave until it breaks and goes away!

Nice to see how everyone picked up this technique and found it fitted well into their lives and habits.

Next technique to try if anyone wants to.

If you get stuck on negative thoughts you could try the swap the negative thought with a positive one

The positive one could be a nice memory that makes you feel chilled/happy or content, a picture in your mind to focus on instead of the negative one that you are dwelling upon and notice the changes in your mind and body.

Lots of determination on here tonight. Well done!

Stuck to my plan for today, OH was delighted when I volunteered to drive and I had a perfectly enjoyable lunch accompanied by fizzy water. I've been fine tonight too, cups of tea and a bit of surfing saw me through. I meant surfing the urge but have been hanging around the boards a bit too at odd times today. You are so right jo about this being a lovely thread with lovely people. What pleasure do people get from putting each other down??

I've started working on my June target 40SM, printed off the calendar page, filled in the holidays and a few other social things. I'll be aiming low and safe but determined! Sleep well all.

    9AF please Budgie.
