I myself am really really struggling today. Day 51 for me, don't want to give in but really really fancy a cold beer. Someone talk me out of it please

Glad to see BB is already on the case - don't do it!! What about an alcohol free lager and lemonade? Kind of the taste but still keep your halo?
    GOOD LUCK fighting the urge!!

Glad you know what I mean about the target, thanks for your suggestion. I will sleep on it and see but 14 sounds like a good compromise between not enough and too challenging.

2.5 pounds off at my WW meeting tonight so getting my pedometer out seems to have worked. Although the week before was bad so overall ok not great.

.. I was fine earlier, don't know what brought this on ??? Scary how it creeps up on you sometimes!

    isn't it?!

go for a chilled coke or huge cup of tea.

and remember that the liquid you were talking about will be nothing like as good as you were imagining it to be...

    take care....

there is rarely "just the one"......

On a more serious note ..........................

In our local paper tonight there is a story running about a 27 year old father of a 2 year old little boy. He lost his job in November and due to pressure of debts etc he has committed suicide. How very sad, and what a price to pay? Surely more help is needed for people who feel so desperate. It is just a shame that he wasn't able to reach out to someone and get some help. It is such a waste of a young life and nothing is worth such a high price. It really does make you angry to realise how bad things are and just how desperate it has become for some people. Sorry to go on but life is precious.

I didn't really mean to post that but it has really got to me tonight after reading the article. (Sorry) xxxxxxxxxxx

Do take care everyone and look after yourselves always.

Budget Babe I know what you mean about stories like that, tragic all round I will often read a story or see it on the news and it just seems to stay with me for ages..you are right, life is precious and there really should be more support for people struggling in these times...

Been having a difficult one tonight, my twins have only just finally gone to sleep  and have been sorely tempted to get dh to nip to the spar for a bottle of wine, have managed not to by trying that 'surfing' thing

..does anyone else find that if they don't drink they just keep thinking about what else they can 'treat' themselves to to make up for 'missing out' on a drink

40sm you have my sympathy about the throwing up child when you are feeling delicate thing...ds did that to me recently in the night and he had had spag bol the eve before...

take care all and thanks for just being here.x

Orchid - OH YEAH - I treat myself constantly to things when I feel like I am missing out

When I began to try and cut down that's how I managed my not drinking - i was allowed the money as a treat for myself - candles, clothes, flowers, food etc anything BUT wine

Waves hello again and says goodluck and nice to see you - try stay surfing :)
