    Welcome to all the newcomers too! This is a great place to work things out and the changes kick in at some stage too either quickly or slowly.

    Not AF yet, had a couple of glasses of red wine last night and a small bottle of Stella. Will finish the bottle off tonight with about 2 glasses left.

    Then I will be AF for the rest of the month. Need a break after drinking for 9 days in a row, even tho not in large amounts.

    Also will make an appt to see my GP as I am concerned about the level of redness I am getting after a glass of alcohol on my face and neck. I have more redness then ever in my face and I feel it is worsening this year more than ever. I have a funny feeling it is alcohol activating a reaction in me.

    I am thinking about having a go with the Berroca stuff too to see if it makes me feel better - thanks to Eselt. Will take it with my Vit B tabs too if this is ok :confused:

    I have piled some weight on after cutting down my drinking. I am stopping the pop and squash after these bottles have gone as I think I am taking in more sugar than before. I have turned into a little butter ball and need to lose some pounds to feel better about me :D

    Looks like I will have to make friends with the cold water tap again!

    Will pop on tomorrow to catch up with you busy lot and to post my first AFD then. Last 2 glasses of wine tonight for the next 26-28 days. Deep breath, here we go again!

    Well done on your new plan Kellylea. We've discussed all sorts of ploys on here like volunteering to drive, blaming medication, saving money etc etc I don't think you're naive at all. Perhaps, if making an excuse helps you get started then why not? Perhaps in time you'll tell your friends you really don't like the after effects.

    Scotsman, why don't your night shifts count? Is that because you don't/can't drink when you're on nights? I'd count them if I were you then you'll feel you're off to a good start.

    Fay, it was a bit of a let down feeling rough when you hadn't been drinking but I found it a really big help to get some AF days in as I really didn't feel like it. Glad you're feeling better stroppy.

    Hope everyone is enjoying the weather. I'm not AF today but am keeping up with my 'daily walk' target so far. Thanks for the jokes but I still think 'wine flu' is one of the best.

    I however have been cleaning, cleaning and cleaning :eek: After so much decorating and being ill I had so much to do, though part of my May challenge is to care alot less if there's dust anywhere, (Oh no I said the D word again :eek:). :D

    Depressing weather here now so I going to curl up with eastenders and some choclit I think:D

  • Had pleasant lunch eventually - after DD(1) had apologised to me for being foul again, and DH apologised because he had blamed me for her horrible attitude yet again. This month I am going to make sure I do not have to seek solace in wine when my family are so horrible - I have actually warned them that I will not stand for any more of their bad attitudes towards me, things must improve or I am afraid I will pack my bags - AS levels or not!!!

    Hi guys,

    Between starting to watch Eastenders at 4pm and now, I have drunk a bottle of red wine. The only reason I have done this is out of boredom and being on my own. Also, I have no plans for tomorrow so at the end of the day, if I feel too c**p to get up in the morning then it doesn't really matter.

    I know this isn't healthy but when you are single unless you make plans over holiday times it's all too easy to fall into the trap.

    Feeling ok and won't/can't drink anymore.

    I have been feeling very fedup after spending all weekend cleaning and tidying and dusting :eek:

    On the positive I have cleared alot of clutter and I have been dusting my bookcase there is an array of books on there after a few fads or two I may have had in the past. ;)

    Anyways I have come across my Louise L Hay book titled: You Can Heal Your Life. (When I bought this it spurred me onto not eat meat and I haven't ever since reading it).

    I have looked up adddictions and this is what it says:
    PROBABLE CAUSE: Running from self, Fear, Not knowing how to love the self.
    NEW THOUGHT PATTERN: I now discover how wonderful I am. I choose to love myself.

    Also I have looked up alcoholism and for this it says:
    PROBABLE CAUSE: Whats the use? Feeling of futility, guilt, inadequacy. Self rejection.
    NEW THOUGHT PATTERN: I live in the now. Each moment is new. I choose to see my self worth. I love and approve of myself.

    Now this is not my comments but those of Louise Hay, I have posted these as I just wondered how you think this relates to how you feel or not as the case maybe. We are tryng to be a better me in May and I think if we can perhaps address how we feel? Then that will be to the benefit of us all.

    The new thought pattern is maybe something to think about and reaffirm for yourself?
    I am taking my May job very seriously you know.

    So I guess it is time to look at the positives and learn to love and appreciate ourselves. I will be honest and thought of maybe purchasing a bottle of wine tonight as I have felt very low, and as I wasn't an alcoholic then I think having a drink would be ok? But then a little voice says: But can you control what you drink?

    It was MollyPolly I think that said it is sometimes very tiring and I must agree.

    So any comments feedback is most welcome or if you have any positive or negative thought patterns that you want to share then this is the right place to do that.;)

    Ntc my dear thankyou as always and sadly no my Ds is not coming home this weekend, he was going to but is unwell so he will be up on the next Bh and thats only 3 weeks away so I can last until then for my hugs, (but only just ;)) Hugs and take care. xxxxxx
