yes the book is really good when I bought it I didn't put it down until I had finished it.
Why I gave up meat was because her personal take on it is that: if it grows eat it and if it doesn't grow then don't eat it. I also thought of the rotting flesh in my body and the trauma the animal felt at slaughter it made me give up and I was a very big meat eater.
Enjoy sitting in the garden and take care.

hello. Well no AFDs yet
but I Have been to bed at a reasonable hour (and slept in a little in the morning) so feel pretty perky.
I have only had a couple of glasses each night with dinner (probably 200-300 mls in total) so not excessive but still, next week I will avoid during the week days.
:hello: to all the new folk, we're a lovely bunch here and very welcoming, make yourselves comfy.Saving to pay the tax man0 -

Phew - lots ot catch up on
Well - great to those who had a few and stopped - I can't have the stuff in the house - slowly but surely I am learning.
Hugs to you glasgow girl - x I know how it feels to be sitting alone on a Bank Holiday - OH went home this am - I have gone to work and locked my purse at work - how sad is that
Also much eaiser here on a Sunday cos all the shops close at 6pm (well those few that are open) so by the time the wine bells are a clanging - there are no shops open.
Taken some Kudzo and soemhow or other the bells of doom (those wine bells) seem to be somehow muffled - verdicts out if it works or not - it seems to some days more than ohters.
Waves to budgie who is now hypnotised not to see any dust
Jo hope the Chocklit is going down a treat - go you with your multi-vitamins and gallons of water - will drink more water tomorrow
Not lost any weight yet - can't decide if its cos I am addicted to MSE - or if its the mad binging of no alcohol then tonnes.
Guess after one whole month off I will see what's what.
Brother now in new flat so house is now all to ourselves - he popped in today nice to see him settled in to his new house
Hi to new folks - busy thread at the moment.
I was veggie for years = then married a farmer - now we only eat 'happy meat' stuff that's grown here at home - tis our happy balance. Book sounds interesting.
My children keep hugging me (hands firmly clamped over faces) and telling me I have the 'piggie wiggie flu' - they are very silly.Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Thanks BudgetBabe for the quote from Louise Hay. I'd say she's got it about right - on all counts with the fear that drives us to drink and the need to keep things simple so as not to drink.
I have a habit of complicating even the most simplest of things, but really I have to remember on a daily basis that just for today I'll not drink. Oh, and the other thing that REALLY helps me is remembering to be grateful. Everyday I say 'thank you' (to no-one in particular) if the sun is shining, the bus turns up on time, if I've been in a situation that makes me happy - everyday I must remember to grateful for what I have. I mustn't forget that once life was very different and I don't want to go back there.
Keep it simple and be grateful - for your health, the roof over your head, your internet connection, your ability to communicate. The simplest things are the most important.
Sorry, it's turned into a bit of a long message. Best wishes to all, particularly those who are struggling.0 -
I have found the "gratefulness" to be very important in my AF quest.0
