  • Morning everybody

Very proud because just as I'd posted another AFD last night, DH tried to entice me to have a few glasses of wine with him - I refused, because I had posted the AFD here! So I went to bed early and feel great today, ready to face all the trials and tribulations waiting for me from the 3 teenage DDs - who I love SO MUCH and I am really grateful for.

Taking part in this May challenge is proving to be brilliant for self-control (so far!).

Bi for now - have a lovely day - rainy here, but never mind.
    Total AFD's May-December 2009: 178 ie 73% of total days (245 days)
Target January: 25 actual: 24 Target Feb: 22 actual 22 Target March: 26 Actual: 24 Target April: 25 Actual: 5

    :hello::hello::hello::hello::hello:

One whole month for me today, 3 for May. Look out Molly - here I come.

All dried out now after our flooded house .... well the walls are still a biy damp, but the carpet is just about dry :D

Even Mrs BHB has cut down - only half a bottle of wine between her and eldest daughter last night :T.

Must be spring and sunny :D

    Enjoy the BH

    Morning all

So much positivity on here and so much to catch up on!!

Firstly, congratulations Andy on your month AF, that is such a fantastic achievement, I really think you might have cracked it this time. If I were you I would go back a year ago and read the posts from back then, do you remember when you and MP were at the same stage? Read it from the beginning, how great you felt and how proud (just like you are now) and then read up to the bit where you picked up again, see if you can see what it was that triggered that off cos you don't want that happening again and then another year of on/off/on/off (just like me ). So very very well done :) xx

GG, yes please do jump up on the Berocca and other various healthy stuff wagon. I warn you that Berocca turns your wee bright yellow, I am a good friend like that, warning people, you know, like Eselt didn't!!!! I thought I'd ingested some kind of nuclear toxins overnight   :rotfl: :rotfl: (only joking Eselt ;))

Budge, thanks for giving us all new healthy me vibes this month, everyone seems to have taken it on board. This morning I took my Berocca and my milk thistle and an anti-biotic for the chest infection. This afternoon I shall have 2 Kudzu. This evening I shall have a fibregel (to help the digestive system when quitting booze :o) and another anti-biotic. Incredible, last week all I took was 3 litres of Stella :rotfl:

Wasn't planning to do much today, OH was going to take DS to the cinema but OH woke up and coughed......god bless us all, he's got the man-flu :eek::eek::eek: there is a good possibility that he won't be able to do ANYTHING for the next week or two now. I came down with this chest infection Sunday before last and managed to soldier on going to work, cooking, cleaning, ironing, shopping etc etc. But I was lucky as I had a lesser version, just merely sniffles compared to the man version. God, aren't us ladies blessed

So DS is disappointed that he might not be going to the pictures, I hate, absolutely hate, going to the cinema as I usually want to fall asleep but felt that maybe I should take him instead. So instead of saying anything and getting his hopes up thought I better find out what they were going to watch, he said, we're going to see Wolverine of course!! So I'm presuming there must be some kind of X-Men film out which would be my worst nightmare!! So just praying that OH will walk in in a minute all better and raring to go...... maybe I should chuck some Berocca down his neck?

Hope you all have a lovely BH :)

    xx

    Hi all

I have just picked up my diary . It is one of those which has a quote or saying in it each week .

I thought I'd share this week's with you

"There are two things that will be believed of any man whatsoever, and one of them is that he has taken to drink"

Booth Tarkington, 1869-1946, American novelist and playwright

I wonder what the other thing was ?

    Hi jo

I can sympathise with you there having three little boys myself . The films/DVDs I ever seem to watch are Spiderman/Batman/X-men etc.

Although I must admit that I was given Mama Mia for Christmas and my DS
(he is 7) loves it and watches it constantly . Its quite cute to hear my 7&5 yr olds singing " young & sweet only 17":rotfl::rotfl:

I also can sympathise with the man-flu:rolleyes: . In my house my 7yr old is worried about me getting "wine-flu " .

Have a great day whatever you do !

I can't imagine it is a placebo effect you know girls. I keep checking the recesses of my mind to see if i want the bottles of wine sat in the fridge waiting for me........and i don't.
I was a bit worried about being at home all day without work but even those days have been no problem.
THE FINAL TURNING POINT FOR ME ( after all the vomiting, headaches, embarrassing moments, humiliating memories, money wasting, shameful behavours, lies and slyness) was....looking at how big my tummy was and thinking, "All the fluid from all those bottles in the recycling bin is swimming round your abdomen, this has got to stop" I lurked on here for a couple of weeks then made the jump. A week yesterday i had my last wine. Tummy definately going down and i am planning a holiday with the money i am saving. Say, 2 bottles of £4 a bottle wine a DAY, over a month, that's.....£240!!!!!! Unbelievable.
Thankyou one and all for, well, for just being here. x
