I cant find any up-to-date research on Kudzu, can anyone?
Given that I have given up drink I am thinking that from tomorrow I will give up food. I am thinking i will do the Cambridge diet. I bought it a while ago but the alcohol has been the downfall of me each time. I drink and think I am gorgeous and don't need to diet!!!!!! Mad but true.
I will be working a lot this week so will just have access to food in the evening. If I can stay AF i should be able to focus on the "not eating".

Any thoughts? I would be grateful for any advice.

I found a couple of papers - but not very much recent - wonder if the research was commissioned before it was released as a herbal remedy? (no idea)

I'd be careful giving up too much at once - the necessity of cups of tea/decaf of an evening to 'do something' rahter than plonk down (excuse the pun) with a bottle of wine means that if you gaveup food too then tbh I would go a bit barmy. I have rediscovered the joys of tea and toast....etc I think I would lose the will to live giving up food too - but I am Taurean :) (food obsessed)

Any chance you'd consider just doing this bit first (the AF bit) and see if you notice those 600+ calories you aren't imbiding with drink each night over the next couple weeks?

Waves to E xx - Jo hope you managed to swerve the beer in the supermarket :)

FB - Kudzo scoffed will take it daily now - I too wasn't taking it when I knew I might drink - seemed a waste somehow - whoops.

As to leaving glasses of wine ..........:j

BB says - Fay sweetheart your signature says four af days which I have put as your total achieved, very well done :T and I do hope that you are feeling better than you did? Hugs xxxxxx

It was my iron resolve BB - if I put down 4 including today in the morning - then I won't break it and change it - too scared!!

I drink and think I am gorgeous and don't need to diet!!!!!! Mad but true.
:p Same with me. I have beer goggles when I look at myself when I'm drunk. Then cold reality hits me the next morning!

115k and AnnieD - this had me rolling on the floor - I am usually at my very sexiest in my head when probably at my least sexiest outwardly........(I wont ask OH - he will roll his eyes)

    Hi Annie
I've only found the info that you can google - some positive, some unfortunately implies placebo effect. But I still bought it today and I'm determined it will help. I've promised myself a few drinks next Saturday night, but not before.

    Hi BB
Yes, 2 AFDs for me so far, another today brings it to 3.:T
Thank you so much for this.

Must get on with the tea - roast potatoes tonight - baked potatoes last night - I too have two big bags of potatoes to get through thanks to special offers in Mr T's :rotfl:

Hi everyone, wow this shiny new thread is moving soooooooo quickly I'm only up to page 7! Impressed with how many abstainers there were over a bank holiday - congratulations to all of you who managed an AFD over the long weekend.
I'm still on the starting line, will get off the naughty bench tomorrow and join fed up and skint making friends with the cold water tap.
Fay and Noy Noy sorry to hear you've been poorly and I hope you are both feeling better.
Nelski, glad you've joined us for the May challenge, and welcome to all the newbies.
Kellylea, you post away all you like, knock yourself out. It was relatively short compared with some anyway! I tend to drink a soft drink like tonic or coke that could be mixed with alcohol. Or make an excuse about an early start.
Price is Right, well done on putting in 3 AFDs already, I think that's really good.
Scotsman4th thanks, I thought your cigarette comment was very thought provoking.
Winebox, thanks, yes it feels pretty good to finally make a target. Now I need to get to 12 this month. Good luck for your new month too.
Maman, well done for saying no after you drove back on Friday - excellent start to your month.
Stroppy, glad you've decided to go with the May challenge. I think having a target at 2 AFD a week last month really helped me, hope it works for you.
Jo, good luck with all the healthy vitamin supplements and everything. Hope it helps.
Sleepy JO, glad you're feeling better. This journey seems to bring up all sorts of difficult emotions but you will get lots of friendly support on here which helps make it easier to face things.
40 something Mum, well done on getting through a Friday night & Saturday night without drinking when there were beers in the fridge - I'm impressed! That drink you mentioned sounds great, where did you get the ginger and lemongrass cordial?

    Jo!....Thankyou for the lecture.
Thankyou "other girls" for your responses too. Good point about the reduction in calories from being AF. I feel my tummy has gone down a bit......think I'll wait a couple of weeks to see how it goes.

    I LOVE YOU ALL xx
