    HIya
    really struggling tonight
went to supermarket with OH - pretty stressed and really was looking to dump a bottle of cava in the trolley - didn't really go for anything but treats - um - cava- and treats for everyone else - and um cava - there was NO need to go into the supermarket at all - I just wanted a bottle of wine, you know how it is - oh I just need something pop in and stick a bottle of wine in as well

SO I ummed and awwed and had a mental fight with myself in the supermarket - not a pretty sight

Left incredibily grumpy without the wine, am so P**ed at myself that I can't just drink like a 'normal person' - if I have wine tongiht - I will have whats left tomorrow, feel carp etc etc etc

SO burst into tears in the car, family think I am a fruit loop - haven't told them what I am doing ie - cutting down/giving up - lol just said I was a bit tired and stressed (all true).

    No Wine bought

When do I get to feel chuffed - all I feel at the moment is angry and sad and annoyed and just angry

At what I just don't know, I guess my ability to take or leave alcohol,

Ignore my ranty post sorry - hope you are all fine

I know its better not to drink but I am still grumpy.

Hugs to all - when does this get any easier?????

PS Budgie you are a star :)

Hi Fay, so sorry to hear about how you're feeling this evening. I haven't done long enough to know if it gets easier so not qualified to help. Err Molly Polly will be back tomorrow. If your family think you a fruit loop they might realise you need extra care and support at the moment if you are at the bursting into tears stage?

One of the chapters in the Overcoming Problem Drinking book by Marcantonio Spada I mentioned on about earlier was about Increasing Pleasurable Activities. He suggests developing a list of pleasurable activities and scheduling in some time each day (not same one daily, picking one you feel like.) Maybe tomorrow you could think of something nice to treat yourself like BB tells us? I think it gives you something to look forward to and I have only wizzed through the book so expect there are other reasons to do this too, about filling the void and stuff.

I popped on here to say I've managed to stay out of the bottle tonight. G'night all.
  • Well done Fay.

Hi I have just popped in before bed, (in secret as I wouldn't want my son to know I post on here). If you see what I mean? Mr BB knows I am on here and doing the list for May, well I had to let him know why I was ignoring him when I was typing, I didn't want him to think I was just being rude. ;)

But heavens Fay I am so sorry that you are struggling tonight and as to getting easier I guess this is why Gc, Ra and others say: one day at a time. You really must know how well you are doing not to have bought alcohol tonight. We have all been there and it is so hard to resist when you get the feeling that you would like a drink. I too have been thinking it is Bh weekend and it would be nice to have a glass of wine. but I am determined to get my target though it really does at times I know become tiresome. Dear Molly Polly is back tomorrow and I once asked her if it does get easier and she replied that it does but I suppose we all have times of wanting a drink. You should feel so proud of yourself for not giving in, I just hope that tomorrow is a better day for you. So God Bless and lots of love and a big ((())) hug and another ((())). xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Miss P lovely to see you lurking, hugs to you and to dear piglet ((())) xxxxxxxxxxxxx

You have done well Fay. White knuckles at the beginning but it does get easier.

I cannot drink normally either, and while it p1ssed me off in the beginning, I don't care now. In fact, my life is far better without booze.
You have to accept you are not normal in regards to alcohol, and that there are far worse maladies to have!!

You'll feel better tomorrow - it is a major thing you have done tonight, and should spur you on to greater heights.
But you kept it in the day, and that's the way to live with alcoholism

    Well done

Just popping in to offer my support, really to the people who want to stop completely, cutting down failed for me,because I am:mad:when it comes to Alcohol.I so remember the trips to the supermarket and the mental battles with what to buy,one of my favourites was a few ready mixed g+ts,to drink before I started on wine,I would tell myself they didnt count:mad:.I will not drink today so I am confident that tomorrow I will be 6years sober and it does get easier,I am constantly vigilant and keep it simple,I just dont take the first drink. My heart goes out to those who are struggling,Jo love and hugs to you.Recovering this week from sinus surgery, had to watch myself with the old painkillers and sleeping tablets they gave me in hospital, took the bare necessities.,now the need for them has passed:jWould have had a field day with them when I was drinking!:rotfl:Sleep well everyone.Just watching Martin Sheen on T.V another Alcoholic, there are a lot of us about:D
