8AF please BB
Hi All
Relatively easy tonight as was out with non-drinking friends. Fancied one when I got home but made a cup of tea instead! Well done everyone who's AF tonight, lots of positives around on the thread. And don't be too hard on yourself if you've taken a night off. Every AF day counts, just remember that Kellylea and others. For most of us every single one is one more than we'd have done before. Sorry you've had such a bad night with your posting BB, the lengths you go to just to help us:A0 -
Thanks guys again for the comments on dealing with the no booze life depression.
Hoping the 5 HTP will help along with a bit of chatting with a counsellor.
Been out for a booze free meal tonight - if anyone lives near a Ping Pong restaurant (Dim Sum style food) they have a great non alcoholic drinks menu including no alcohol cocktail of the month and amazing flowering teas - for once you don't feel like a saddo looking for the bottom bit of the drinks menu!

Good morning,
Welcome London Guy and cardboard chewer :hello: Lovely to see new 'faces'
Very quickly before we go out, another AF night last night so 13 for me please Budgie.
Had a few 'words' with DH husband last night and because stone cold sober was very articulate and reasonable and didn't end up blubbing all over the place - triumph.Saving to pay the tax man0 -

When I tried them they didn't make me have a headache but they made me feel sick to my stomach so I can't take them.
12th day AF for me today.
Because of the nice weather I keep thinking about sitting outside in my garden with a glass of something alcoholic. I might have to buy some veggie burgers and salad and a bottle of Schloer or something today so I can have a nice evening without it being alcohol related.
Hope you are all okay. Everyone is doing great I think.:AHOUSE MOVE FUND £16,000/ £19,000

:hello:Good morning everybody
It's stopped raining, the sun is trying to come through the clouds and I'm so pleased I resisted the lovely-looking crisp white wine last night. while I was out - even though I walked there!! :T And, like Maman, I had a cup of tea when I came home (with several biscuits, but hey-ho).
Joining this thread must be one of the best things I have done for a long time :j

Morning
Thank you budget babe for all the posts you do - I don't know how you keep up.
7AFD for me now but I'm on the bench from tonight. Day off work tomorrow, girlfriend coming to stay tonight but I have bought some low alchohol wine for us tonight.
Been making the most of OH being away this week but really need to have a long conversation with him when he gets back. He drinks more than I do and it's quite worrying, he doesn't seem to have an off switch and once he goes through the barrier he drinks anything and everything until he passes out or takes himself off to bed. He doesn't remember things the next day and has been known to be quite nasty to me in the past but this hasn't happened for a while.
I'm worried that when I get pregnant there might be even more problems as he often kicks his legs and arms around quite violently which could hurt me and even more worried about him carrying on this behavious when we have children.
He was having counselling when I first met him but the effects seem to have worn off. I have to threaten to leave him about every 3 months to have the desired effect of him not drinking so much.
I might have a look at the kudzo and see if this helps.
Anyway, aiming to be back on the wagon Sunday night. Hope everyone has a good Bank Holiday weekend.

Thanks for the warm welcomes :j
hiphouse, good post and I can relate to what your saying. I have felt the same in the past with respect to becoming frustrated with other people’s way of doing things (and eselt’s point about overreacting to little things) but now I just try to relax and ‘live and let live’. Good phrase :T Keeping things simple has also helped me, I used to try and do many things at the same time at a million miles an hour which got me into the stress/drinking downward spiral. Now I do things slowly at my own speed and not other peoples speed. Annoys my manager at work but that’s a price worth paying
budget babe, thanks but I’ll not join in the target at the moment. If I set a target and fail then I’ll feel bad. I’m not sure if that makes any sense!!??
If people get problems with losing posts, type up the post in Word/Notepad and when your ready copy and paste it into the forum web page then if the web page crashes you’ll still have your original text in Word/Notepad.
Well done to all who are AF :A0 -

Depends if you like beer or not but my solution to the sunny garden trigger (and boy is that a big trigger for wanting a drink!) is to have a 0% lager topped up with diet lemonade to make a great alcohol free lager shandy.0 -
Hi there,
I am returning again!! Been away looking after an ill reletive but am back home now and in good spirits. The enforced absence has helped with being AF and I've also been taking kudzo which appears to be working.
Am off to catch up on the posts, hope everyone is keeping well and enjoying the AF days (and the sunshine!!)
Take care
