    Guys

Can anyone tell me where the best place is to get Farrow & Ball Piant????

    Many thanks
    Ps is it expensive ??

You can buy it at Homebase. I've only used it once, but my experience was that although the tin I bought was more expensive than others, (£14.99 for 750mls, whereas the Crown was £9.99) it goes on so well. I painted a dresser (a few pages back in the thread) and gave it 3 coats and there's still some paint left. So I think it's worth the extra bit.

A lot of people recommend Laura Ashley paint too, dont know how the price compares though.

I tried Laura Ashley emulsion a few years ago (got it reduced to 99p for a big tin!) and found it to be incredibly thin.

If you use a trade paint such as Johnstones as a primer and put the coats on until there are no remnants of any colour whatsoever on whatever you are painting (it could take 5), then use an acrylic eggshell for your colour (one coat) , it really should not matter whose paint you use to be honest.

    Just came on to say that I decided that I would make myself a quilt like this one;
    http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=160333473823
(will have to be quicks its ebay and ending soon!) /QUOTE]

Hi, this quilt pattern is very similar just done with different colours
    http://quiltville.com/simplystrippy.shtml
the one on ebay just has all the bricks cut the same size with alternate white ones. This is a really good pattern for a new quilter as you don't need to match any points!
The quilterscache website is a very good one for free patterns, although you can spend hours on it!

don't know if i should kill my oh or kiss him!
Have been going on at him for a while about how I missed my sewing machine and how much I wanted a new one and how all we could afford was one of those dinky ones which were a bit crap but better than nothing. Then out of the blue he announces there is a machine down the stairs that hasnt been used in ages- gets it out and it's a gorgeous old singer. Then take it up the stairs to put it on a sewing table and he shows me how the table opens up and inside is a beautiful jones machine!
Very pleased at the finds but could have killed him for not thinking to tell me he had them!
Only thing is that the 'belt' (dunno the word) that should connect the wheel from the foot pedal on the table to the machine of the base is missing any ideas where I could find one?

There are pics of them here. Not sure on years or models of them though, if anyone could shed some light would be very happeee
ETA: Looks like there is some damage to the singer on the photo- is just huge amounts of dust from living unloved in the basement for years
    :):):):)
