oooohhhhhh and aaaaaaahhh I love your pink fridge, how fantastic is that???
your painted chairs are great too, I have dark brown chairs in the kitchen, would love to paint them, but it will be lot of work sanding them down, not sure if I am up to all that.
Question: I have old wardrobes, they are the dark brown kind but the finish is shiny, smooth, would sanding and primer be enough for paint to stick? Just thought, maybe I should spray paint them a nice colour, wonder if that would work, what do you think?0 -
Thanks mumoftwo.
You should be fine if you juust give your wardrobes a quick rub down with some sandpaper, then apply a couple of coats of wood primer and then a couple of coats of good quality paint. I would definitely recommend Farrow and Ball paint. As many have said before, it is pricier than other paints, but the finish is excellent and it's well worth it.
I'd go for the oil eggshell finish. I painted up an old Singer table that was dark wood, and it came up well.Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
Hi Metranil Vavin,

I use a hand sanding machine (first one was a 'detail sander'). Much faster & not very expensive.
Then I slap on the F&B. Fast. So much to paint up, so little time.

Ooooh, look what I got at the weekend. I am about to paint my kitchen and this great metal picture will go well with the tiles I can't change (they are in good condition and I'm too frugal!).

Hi Chivers - the tiles came from Critereon Tiles which is on Wandsworth Bridge Rd in SW London.
They were stupidly pricey as they're all handmade, but I loved the colours so got them anyway!Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,You don't even take him seriously,How am I going to get to heaven?,When I'm just balanced so precariously..0 -
I am sure this has been said before, but you all really should visit the shabby chic cafe. Everything you ever wanted to know about shabby chic is there and I know that the registration problems were sorted for me, even I had given up.
If you are truly interested, you really should come.0 -

I finally got registered after getting my ISP to sort out an email account (I use gmail, so didn't have an account with my ISP) but now it says that I don't have permission to post. Couldn't be bothered to faff around anymore, so I just browse.0
