Oooh hermum, those are lovely! Although rather annoyingly I like the blue in the photo.

I bought this little table at the car boot on Sunday and here it is almost finished. I've ordered a little pink cut glass knob off ebay to replace the old metal one so will replace it as soon as that arrives (this morning, hopefully!).

I've got it in my hallway at the moment ('in situ' photo here) but it's looking a little bit lost. Hopefully when I move house there'll be room for it somewhere!

OMG your house is just fab, I am off to read your blog right now. You are an insiration!!!

    p.s. thanks Vikki!!! :T

For those who have commented on my hallway...thank you! And I thought you might like to see the 'before' photo :) pretty much the whole place was dark brown, including all the previous owner's furniture. Yikes!

    :jthanks vikki, have ordered

i think i may need shabby chic-ers of MSE to unite here
having major work done in the house, building/knocking down walls/extension etc
plan is to have a hooge live in kitchen at the end

so i have been collecting lots of lovely items in anticipation of my lush new shabby chic meets country kitchen type room, lovely enamel baths & enamel accessories, cakes with cath kidston wrappers (fake of course but look lush) to display n a cake dome, 2 BIG dressers, a lovely wall cupboard, ordered wood work surfaces, oh you all get the picture
the prep work has been going on so long that i have had plenty time to shop and re vamp things, they are almost finished, ready to be put in place as soon as work has finished

and now, over the weekend, the rest of the household have decided it would be so much more fun to have an american diner:eek:
and not only that, in place of my lovely seating area, for which i have bought oodles of material to make a quilt & millions of lush shabby chic cushions, OH & son, have bought, wait for it, a lazy boy sofa:eek:

i love the idea of an american diner
just not in place of MY vision:(

Does this mean lots of chrome, stainless steel & plastic stools? VERY hard to clean - did you mention you'd have to increase their cleaning duties? :D That might put them off and leave you free to create your shabby chic kitchen!

Fight hard on this - most kitchens have to last for donkeys years!
I have the simplest tastes. I am always satisfied with the best.

OOh no, no, no, is there another room they can trash instead of your lovely kitchen. I was drooling over the first part & then it all became a nightmare.
Have you got room for a big shed, spare bedroom or something & let them have that as the boys room.
Or tell them that it will so offend you, you will never be able to set foot in it.
Kitchens are supposed to wrap their arms around you & give you a hug when you're in them. Who wants to be hugged by a heap of chrome.
Does husband know how much it will all cost to completely revamp a room, print out a list of everything that will be needed to carry the them off.
If all that fails sob hysterically.
