OOh that plate is lovely, great find. Where did you find those crochet cakes did you make them and if so have you a link to a pattern their fab. I would love to paint my pine bedroom furniture, but Im nervous to start. Ive looked around tinternet for years for a video to help me but most are American and talk about paint and stuff you cant get here. I would get a told you so from a certain quarter if i made a mess.”Pour yourself a drink, (tea for me now)

OMW - I can't believe I've just found this thread - not read all the posts yet (would take me a year lol), but what I have read has made me v. excited and given me loads of ideas on stuff to make & restore myself!
I've loads of unused curtains & duvets which my parents gave to me when I moved out & have never had a heart to get rid - I'm thinking start with making cushion covers and see how I go from there!

Primark have quilted bed throws in cotton. £15 for the large size, which covers a sigle bed well - think they're meant to go across the foot of a double bed.
I saw 2 designs
a Cath Kidston style fine stripe backed with aqua with tiny white spots
or
shades ofsoft pink faux 'patchwork' backed with white with an all-over tiny running vine design (reminded me of vintage Laura Ashley)
Very pretty & very shabby chic.I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Painting pine furniture can be really successful. Sand it down well to key it and then wipe clean with white spirit and then use an eggshell paint. Farrow and Ball do some lovely ones. Dulux satin coat is also very good. I used to paint all sorts of odd bits of furniture to match especially for my children's bedrooms.OOh that plate is lovely, great find. If you are a bit scared of giving it a go, try practising on something small. If you make a mess it can always be stripped down again.0 -

Sorry about the lighting, its a bit dark here today. This is the 80's pine dresser I bought from a charity warehouse for £85. My Step Dad painted it with Laura Ashley paint and stained the top of the dresser base. I'm really pleased with it!

Hello Shabby Chic ladies,
Does anyone know where I can get this 'HOME' sign from.
Beautiful dresser Tiff, stunning.
Thanks x0 -
