That's pretty isn't it? It would be fab to have something like that. I never even knew this thread existed!!! Hello everyone, i'm a big fan of shabby chic/ cath kidston and we are renovating our first home and I intend on having a very shabby chic dining room and kitchen. Here are a few pics of what I have got so far
A cluttered cupboard soon to be decluttered, shabbied up using CK wallpaper
£17.80 Teak dining table With 6 chairs
Currently sanded down and had their first coat
I'll be recovering the seat pads with some CK-esque material. I am an avid crafter so i'll be filling the room with handmade chic
Now to catch up on the two shabby chic threads!!!Debt Free as of 15/03/2010 :j0 -
Ooh, where did you get the table and chairs, Ebay? I want some ladderback chairs like those.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

Yeah, they were from Ebay, I always search 'distance nearest first' so it means i can just pick it up and not pay for p&pDebt Free as of 15/03/2010 :j0

Yes, I have some local searches saved, just waiting for the right thing to come along. The table looks lovely so far.“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

Thank you! I was originally going to paint the whole thing white but started legs upwards just so i could see what it looked like with a bare top and tbh i love it! Its so rewarding too, not having to pay over the odds for a dining table!Debt Free as of 15/03/2010 :j0

I liked the paper and the colours. Didn't manage to see it all so will try to catch it on iplayer. Did I see correctly though that she already had a nice wooden dresser on the left of the chimney breast? Why didn't she save some money and buy some more planks and get shelving made above it? She could have had nice deep shelves then.
I went to my neighbours yesterday to see her antique dresser. She said I would understand her drawer. Yup, she has a drawer for her linen. Sooo jealous! It's a huge dresser and the shelves on the top are wide enough to have large plates standing up (charger size) and full sized dinner plates sitting flat. It's lovely. I showed her my napkin rings (not the ones I found today), not matching, all ages. I love it when we sit down to tea because it's very eclectic. I think I may go one step further and start collecting linen napkins from charity shops. I don't mind if they don't match, I think it adds to the charm. My lovely MiL said she'd dig some out for me and look out in the charity shops too!
I hope you dont mind but i thought you might like this blog she has the most lovely table settings with napkin rings and i thought it might give you some inspiration. Scroll down and its called Tablescapes she also does the most amaizing party themes if you click on them on the left hand side.
