  • Hiya,
I'm kinda new to this Shabby Chic thing as have only just got my own house (YEY!)
I live with a gadget monster and we can't afford to redo the entire house (much as I want to!) so I'm just trying to add the odd Shabby Chic touch. Does anyone have any ideas of what I could use to put two laptops (and relevant cables) in that could be accessed really easily (they are used everyday, several times a day!)
    Thanks in Advance
    Vickie

I really want one of those fancy £300 mixers, they are so darn pretty. One day maybe! But that retro one would be fab... and free!

Princess Vix... thankfully my OH is not a gadget monster! I hate endless electrical gizmos in the house. :rotfl: What about a nice rattan basket to put it in?

    Wow, fab dresser!

I agree re Cath Kidston designs, it's only really the old roses vintage prints that I like, and you can get similar elsewhere for less these days.

If you search in ebay for shabby chic bed spread pink and blue it should bring up some fab kath kidston-esque bedding sets for a smidgen of the prize! My friend got one and its lovely!

I was doing my cleaning job for one of my clients last week, when she told me to clean round some stuff she was taking to a jumble sale.

To my delight there was a vintage Kenwood Chef. Over 30 years old and in cream and pale aqua trimmings. It came with two stainless steel bowls and works perfectly. It is now in pride of place in my kitchen.

Just click on the flickrs website and you can see it. Lots of interesting bits and pieces on it too.

My mum had one very similar but got rid of it :(
  • :DNew project - at last I can afford to transform the en suite into a French Chic style bathroom only with out the bath, to create space I am going to have shower instead.

I would love to put an armoire in, please can anyone help with ideas also advise if wooden furniture is ok in a bathroom.

BTW - this is a great thread, I am really enjoying reading all the ideas you have all put on here and really hope you can help me out.

  • Acting on the inspiration I got from this thread I tried to make four curtains yesterday - got to the point where I just needed to hang them to see how much I needed to cut off to make the hems when the Puppy decided to go wee wee on them
They've just come out of the tumble dryer and my stitching has held so I'm off to go and try again
