Does anyone know where I can get a pretty sugar pottery storage container that doesn't have 'Sugar' written on it?! I had a really pretty mismatched set for coffee/tea/sugar/biscuits/pasta etc. that I'd bought over the years from various places but the lid on the sugar broke at the weekend and I can't find one similar, Whittards don't seem to sell anything like that anymore, TK Maxx had nothing pretty at all and John Lewis/Debenhams don't have a great choice either.

Hello - I have a wooden dresser that I want to update - have stripped off all the disgusting varnish but want to paint the shelves cream - what would you recommend to prime it with?
I have some Farrow and Ball paint to finish it with
Thanx in advance for any guidance

I have just done my dresser - im afraid im a lazy painter and didnt even sand most of the disgusting orange varnish let alone prime it! Just slapped on the laura ashley creamware. 2 coats have covered it lovely.

Spent all afternoon readind this thread and have found it very inspirational and cannot wait to get to work on our Kitchen/Diner :D

I am thinking of bidding on a dresser for the kitchen but i'm not sure i would have the room in this weather to sand it down and paint it inside and i don't fancy the dust everywhere? Does it make lots of mess? I might hope to get it cheaply and wait for some dry weather :(

After reading this thread i've realised i have created a shabby-chic ish look in my babies room we have a nautical Laura Ashley theme, all from Charity Shops, Car Boot sales etc. I think the room cost us about £30 and looks amazing - My fav room in the house. - Need to learn how to post pics :D

Also would anyone mind if i posted pics of my kitchen and see if anyone has any inspirational ideas - were in a rented house so limited to what we can do
