  • Hi all

I had to share this as im sure you will all understand my excitement

My landlord has agreed I can decorate my house!! gone is the dark wood, dodgy kitchen cupboards and in comes shabby chicness everywhere I look

Im so excited am going to paint the dodgy dark fireplace in F & B Dimity, as well as any other dark wood that offends my eye

but even more importantly I can replace the kitchen cupboards with lovely country esque shabby chic doors and handles!!!!

I do intend to do it as MSE as I can - am going to be looking for secondhand cupboard doors etc - but am so pleased I can create my shabby chicness with the building - given that we are planning to be there for a few years - its worth the investment!!

will certainly share the photos of the changes - but I knew if anyone would appreciate my excitement it would be you all

euripidesralph; I share your excitement! Great landlord you have there allowing you to change things around, but, you are doing him a favour by upgrading his house!! I wonder if a long time in the future all this brown furniture that we are desperate to paint will come back into fashion. That would be funny (or scary)!!

euripidesralph B and Q sales section had some kitchen doors for as little as £5 last week. In our old house I redid my entire kitchen this way for £42. Might be worth a try?

Edit I found this ivory Shaker-esque one greatly reduced door prices!!!

Pennib - I do think that from time to time - not that long ago shabby chic was considered a bit passe wasnt it? not that I am ever admitting it to DH the things that I have made him buy in the name of SC lol :rotfl:
