Me too :o. I must have had these charms for about a year now and about 4 years prior to that I bought loads of 4" squares but never used them as I was terrified of getting it wrong. Couple of days ago I figured the worst I would do is c0ck it up and no-one would die/be injured/hate me - the fabric squares were sitting idle in the cupboard and no-one would miss them if I had to throw it out so I may as well try. Give it a go, what's the worst that can happen? :D

    Gratuitous dog shot:

She doesn't look like that anymore - taking my advice above (what's the worst that can happen?..........) I took our clippers to her and she looks pretty now, well tidier at least ;)

She is, however, not talking to me anymore:

I finally finished my 'director' chair & photographed it ...then spent the morning tidying up my Shabby flickr, maybe you'd like a look:

The furniture is all in use, the bag would be but I finally got a 'real' Cath bag!

I owe it all to the original Shabby Chic thread, especially the person who first wrote about Farrow & Ball paint!

  • Pollyskettle! How sweet!

I want a shabby chic dog now...

But I'll go back to lurking in envy, I have nothing shabby chic to post... my little flat is merely shabby; but it's my home, it's safe and cosy and that'll do for me :A

Right, dog blanket finished and I have learnt the following:
    • with practice, I could be quite good at quilting. I only quilted round the edges of the squares as this was the first time I had tried it. I may well try another one, slightly more difficult.
    • never EVER use satin binding. This is where I really messed it up as it kept slipping (even though I used sooooo many pins!). This is the reason there are no close up pictures - parts of the binding look like I sewed it whilst inebriated and I can assure you I am stone cold sober :D

Dog hasn't seen it yet as she is in the 'dog house' (boom boom!) as I made her a new cushion for her bed last night and she was sick on it overnight :(

    WOW - great work :T

Have you got a walking foot for your machine?
I would love to do something like that but my machine is not worth spending the cost of a walking foot, so I'm going to wait until I get a better one.
:oJack of all trades ... Master of none :o
