I haven't posted for ages, just been reading what everyone else is up to. I've just had a laugh at the pics of I think danemi1's sewing machine. I hope someone can tell you if it's threaded properly, have you tried downloading an instruction book online? I assume you don't have one. Or looking on ebay for one if it's not available online?
Not done anything to any of my vast collection of stuff.
I did though win a local survey comp, the prize was £100 of B&Q vouchers, so at least I won't have to worry about funding the projects.
I'm very impressed with everyone's finds & projects. I come on for inspiration & spend far too much time flitting between threads.
Soon hopefully I will have stuff to put on.

Just wondering, what to do when your house has all the shabby and none of the chic!?!?!? LOL. Said to OH the other day "we live in an old persons house now, don't we?" You know, the type of house your Mum, aunts, Nan lived in. Still, at last its all clean and paid for!

Danemi1 Sorry cant help with your sewing machine problem, when mine gets stuck I throw it at hubs to fix! Your ribbon embroidery is brilliant, what are you going to make next? Wish I could come to your craft evening....got an old lady next door but she doesnt do owt!
thats me: You made me laugh! Still there is something to be said for all clean and paid for!
What about getting out the paintbrush and give something a transformation? Then it will be less shabby and more chic! We had a lot of old furniture when the kids were younger, case of make do and mend as we were broke. But I found a book in the library on transforming items and then there was no stopping me, every single chest of drawers and wardrobe were painted. I will see if there is a photo to show you.

Here is one that was done years ago. Its two small chest of drawers on top of each other, although it does look like one large one.

Yay, pregnancy panic over, I have finally bought a chest of drawers. Scoured the boot sales and charity shops but had to spend £50 in the end. Still not bad.

Also won a sewing box on ebay, again not the lucky £5 buys some of you have had from boot sales but it is old, wood and has THINGS in it!!!!

Would you do anything to either of them? I have run out of vision and creative thoughts. Will line the inside of the sewing box with some of my free wallpaper samples.

Danemi - the sewing machine looks correctly threaded to me - just make sure your tension is ok by sewing a test piece on a bit of scrap fabric. Have you been able to pull the spool thread through from underneath?

Thanks girls....it was a pattern that I saw in a book, so adapted it to fit the drawers. Then got my paintbrushes out and did my own thing! Got a few more painted furniture if anyone wants to see?

Jennishrew; Glad you got your chest at last. I wouldnt touch it to be honest, its a lovely colour.
But I would paint the sewing box it is crying out to be 'shabbied and chic'ed'!!
