I have had a go recently actually but I am afraid I cant give any info on it as I had my hand firmly held by my neighbour - she is 82 and is amazing - she can do anything craft wise - we have a craft evening every Monday in our conservatory - there are 5 of us - I am the youngest - 44 , 52 , 70, 82 and another lady who is I think in her 80's. I cannot sew for toffee - I could cross stitch but dont mention french knots to me I come out in panic attacks - lol - but now I have done a few french knots thanks to Vera and I have done a little silk oval with flowers inside - but she provided the bits and bobs for it and literally kept showing me what to do each step and helped me when I went wrong - I think sewing is scared of me let alone the other way around - lol - am still trying to sort my machine out so I can do my bunting anyway I will nip off and see if I can photo my oval - but I just wanted to see it was very rewarding! Hope you find somewhere for your supplies.

Aw didn't you get the threading sorted out? I had some teething problems with mine and it drove me insane, hope you are more relaxed about it than me!

Ooh mine's very different. Off to bed now but will take a look tomorrow. The ladies on the sewing room thread (in special occasions) are fab though and might be best to ask.
