Yes ouch indeed,I had to have a little lie down as felt quite wobbly, I also managed to get my finger stuck to the iced up bit of the freezer trying to numb the pain, DH had to come and rescue me!
Hope your wounds aren't too bad, and is everyone OK following the electic wire? Do you have a stud detetctor? They pick up wires, beams etc in the walls.
Look forward to seeing your photos later!0 -
Must be the time for DIY disasters Bibitybob, I sanded off my fingernail (just the tip) and got a nasty blood blister on my fingertip when I was sanding down the table top with the electric sander. Will wear gloves next time it hurt like hell. The table looks gorgeous though, I sanded the normal top down and just need to sand the extension bit in the middle now.
I'm finding paintng the chairs really fiddly though as the backs are quite intricate and the paint pools and then drips in the cutout parts grrr.
I have a feeling I am going to be very precious over this set when I'm done and nobody will be allowed to sit at it. It will be my ornamental table!
Oh also won a small cabinet/sideboard and a bargainous headboard for 99p that both need some SC magic, I'm going to be far to busy for housework for the next few weeks!0 -
No thanks, I've got my work cut out with just the one!
Can you put it back on ebay, I've been shocked at the prices some of the tables have been going for. That broken one in Basildon you spotted went for loads more than expected. Around £20- 30 I think.0 -
Hello ladies, I'm in need of inspiration! It doesn't normally happen to me but I've hit a complete blank on what do do with this little box I just bought at a fete for £1.50. To give you an idea of size, it's 7.5" to the top of the handle and 8" across the top end to end and 5" wide.
I'm thinking probably off white paint, re-line it with tiny flowery fabric & replace the tacky postcards with different but toning fabric. But somehow I just don't feel inspired. It's a lovely little box and I don't want to do it half-heartedly so come on girls, I need some amazing suggestions!Oh dear, here we go again.0 -
Wow Jenny that is gorgeous and has such potential! Are you any good at cross stitch? As you could use some waste canvas to embroider a design or wording onto some lush vintage /retro fabric.Or perhaps pop some of your fave photos in instead of the postcards?Sorry creative juices are not flowing today!lol.:D:female:Our 2 gorgeous little girls born 2006 and 2010

Yes it has loads of potential, I'm cross with myself that I just can't see it at the moment! Was out late last night (went to Rocky Horror Show - amazingly fab!) so really tired today.
The cross stitch idea sounds quite nice, but it's not something I have ever done. What do you think it would look like if I did some applique panels, maybe simple birds or something?Oh dear, here we go again.0 -
Jenny it's a gorgeous box but unfortunately I'm devoid of imagination and originality so can't help. I do know it will be gorgeous when done though because I love it as it is.0

I am REALLY sorry but this just made me laugh so much. It sounds like an episode of keystone copys (you are probably too young to remember that - mind you so am I). The way that you have described your little disasters has so much humour in it. I know I am bad but thanks for the laugh! Hope you are ok though - really I do I am not laughing at you just the description honestly:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Some days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar. The box is lovely and I like the idea of cross stitch. I like the ideas of butterflies and dragonflies in really pale colours, that would fit with the little flowery fabric theme. I second the taking your time though. If you only just bought it, the answer will come when you have more oomphSome days there aren't any trumpets, just lots of dragons. Courage doesn't always roar.
