hermum wow at all your purchases. I'm insanely jealous of your mons bench. I'd love one to go n the bay window in my living room.
Another quick question. I have a mahogany look mantlepiece, the fire itself is a fake coals gas fire (rather nice actually) and then there is off white marble surrounding it. I'm tempted to paint the mantle with a greyish green farrow and ball. I will be having off white and pale blue toile de jouy wallpaper on the wall behnd it. Do you think paint it or leave it? Or even better shall I do the wallpapering, then take a pic so you can consult it hahaa
starlite, I painted my fire surround last year here is it before and after, I roughly sanded it and painted it in Parsonage Cream egshell (Dulux I think) to tie in with the skirting etc.
The second pic is before I put the mirror up I took it to show mam the new wallpaper. It was a while ago too as you can see from the christmas decs. You can stand there and agonize........

Here is a little dresser that was cobbled together years ago for my daughters video collection. She has moved on and was going to throw it away. It had chocolate squares on it (very in at the time
)So put a back on it and painted it with Laura Ashley. The bits on it are a tea set with hyacinths on them, car boot £2. 4 C.Kidston dinner plates £10 and jugs from ebay...not forgetting my sock monkeys!

Would it be wrong to complement you on your jugs?
Sorry couldn't help myself!
I picked up a 1950's tea trolley today that I won for 99p on ebay.
The bloke that sold it looked a bit choked up as he parted with it, said it belonged to his parents. I promised to look after it. I'm considering not painting it because of that.
Am I being too sentimental?0 -
EG, I'd still paint it up, but then I'm not very sentimental.
I would think that the guy would be happy that someone else is getting enjoyment from it in whatever way. It's not like you're chopping it up for firewood.0 -
EG - I'd paint it too
Just got this for 2.00 on the bay of E
And this for 4.20
Both will be given a new lease of life. Can anyone point me in the right direct of cheap fabric for the stool pls ?;)

BB John Lewis is having a fabric sale at the moment. Think it said it was on till 6th or 10th July. Sadly I didn't have time to browse, but there were more people in the fabric section than I have ever seen there before.0
