    I've been Money Tipped!
I dn't know if anyone saw the Mary Portas programme last night, but essentially the shop was ''saved'' by just the sort of shabbying and overhauls done on this thread. And the mark ups were huge.

danemi, I will do pics, I've been a bit crazy with buying, so much so that I've had to rent a garage to put everyting in:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:so not terribly MSE, however I do plan on buying, doing up a bit & selling some stuff on.
Fruit I love that laundry basket. The telephone table is great, I'll be interesting to see how that turns out as one of my purchases last week was a repro monks bench, that has the table back & think that mine will need to go creamish. Unfortunately we dropped it getting it out of the car & it split up the front:(. I'm really hoping that I can squeeze it into my kitchen when it's finished.
I ought to take pics of all that I've bought, so that you can all give me a stern talking to about stopping buying.
    Actually I'll list it all.
Blanket box £10, wardrobe £10, little cupboard with carved doors £10, small painted pine chest of drawers £16, monks bench & edwardian bedroom chair, original covering & castors, this is horsehair & nearly gave me a hernia getting it up the stairs, nothing is being done to that. I think I paid about £60 for both of them together. Art deco dressing table 10p, bentwood chair, old oak post box, pine bookcase, pine glazed wall cupboard, couple of small boxes, washstand, music shelves, prayer stool, they all came to around £50 & need quite a bit of work except the music shelves.:eek:
Then the 2 wingback chairs & stool, free.
I think that I'm in a manic phase, or have been.
Please can everyone tell me to stop & get my !!!! in gear.
OOh, lloyd loomesque, bedroom chair & laundry basket. Victorian cast iron single bed head & tail boards.
Funnily enough I don't know where to start. HELP

    Morning!

I love the blanket box, gorgeous material.

I've been on ebay for hours and came across this. It's so unusual, I think it would look amazing put together and painted.

Great idea re the chairs too, I will join my local freecyce. I got some great thing from the Lonon one before we moved up north. I'm totally in love with that Georgian one, added it to watch list haha.

I'm going to take some before pictures, andwill post them later as my projects come together. I'm doing my kitchen/ dining room first. Big decision as to whether to strip the wallpaper before painting. It is cream embossed fleur de lys, and I plan to paint it an off white, with a striking green on one wall. What do you guys think?

hermum wow at all your purchases. I'm insanely jealous of your mons bench. I'd love one to go n the bay window in my living room.

Another quick question. I have a mahogany look mantlepiece, the fire itself is a fake coals gas fire (rather nice actually) and then there is off white marble surrounding it. I'm tempted to paint the mantle with a greyish green farrow and ball. I will be having off white and pale blue toile de jouy wallpaper on the wall behnd it. Do you think paint it or leave it? Or even better shall I do the wallpapering, then take a pic so you can consult it hahaa

    Morning Girls.

I also bought an old telephone table from the cs on the weekend. I thought £25 was reasonable until I just read starlite's post about paying £10! You lot are to blame for my new shabby purchases!:rotfl: I seem to have the bug now lol!

The telephone table will be going off white, not sure which paint or colour yet. I'm supposed to be decorating and making things for my dd's room this week so the table will have to wait a little while.

There have been some lovely things posted this week, the tea set is beautiful.

Hart ~ Glad to see the coasters done, they are fab!:T

oh fruit-loop i love that. and i so have the perfect place for one of those. i think hubby would need vision if i showed him it as it is, but i know and after picture would sway him.

All these wonderful find's. i love church pues and always wanted one to make up the seating on a dining table. but hubby isn't keen on them.

I'm searching for a chair just like this to go beside my fireplace in the dining room. Drool.
That's the same person I bought my 2 chairs from and boy do they smell! He was asking £45 and I offered £25 so he will take low offers.

My friend tells me that she did a show on CS and told them all they were undercharging. Since then prices have rocketed so he blames her! He has a fantastic eye for a bargain. He is also very creative. I currently have him renovating a table that I inherited because I wanted it to be professional so didnt trust myself. I forgot to take a before picture but will show you all when it is finished and he brings it back

He took an offer of £50 for something else listed at £70, & £18 for something at £40, so well worth a really low offer.

    Love those metal hearts shabbied.
