I will! I know what you mean about things slowing you down, I have a 2 1/2 year old who has actually been really good today and not touched the doors!
Love the sound of the pink unit. I'm considering pink for the kitchen walls but DH turned his nose up lol!0 -
Yes my hubby is anti pink and anti florals so many times I have sighed with frustration 'cos he has called a gorgeous material or bedspread 'disgusting'.So I do have to run my ideas past him and compromise a little.I suppose it's his house too!Mind you he owes me as I'm a footballers widow at the moment and a new tv which we saved up for arrived yesterday. What is it about men/boys and their gadgets??!:female:Our 2 gorgeous little girls born 2006 and 2010

Kitchen Update!
The base units all have some paint on them, a couple need a further coat (I'm doing 3).
Only the glass fronted units left to sand on the top. It's looking so lovely. I know I keep on saying it but I'm so happy and relieved.
Picked up a small remenant of fabric in LA today in duck egg with black floral print for 50p! Also found a roll of wallpaper in duck egg, white and pink floral pattern... like this
Which I am going to use behind the glass in the top cabinets, and maybe make a notice board with too.
I have decided after not being able to find one on ebay to make a book trough using a cheap pine shelf so will be heading off to B&Q tomorrow for that. I plan to put the trough on top of the fridge/freezer and have my cookbooks on it thus freeing up cupboard space.0 -
I came across this pattern by accident but thought there might be a few amongst you that might be interested.
I shall be knocking some up for Christmas pressies with matching tea-cosies, aprons and peg bags.....I think they'd be appreciated."Start every day off with a smile and get it over with" - W. C. Field.0 -
Is painting garden chairs in duck egg blue shabby chic lol. If it is I have started my first project YAH!! In honour of my lovely dad who died two years ago I have planted some flowers from a car boot sale yesterday and started painting my garden chairs that my husband gave me when I asked for a book case from our home lolx
Im also missing photos please keep them coming. What else keeps me smiling.x:rotfl:0 -
Today we went to a car boot sale and I got a gorgeous huge chunky shabby chic candlestick for £2 and a mini sewing machine for £3. I'm really excited about the sewing machine because I've always wanted one (hand sewing things takes a long long time!) but I remember using them with horror when I was at school and college - the needle would snap or the thread would tangle up, and I couldn't change the spool at the bottom, I just couldn't get the hang of them. This one looks idiotproof though, basically put the fabric in and go, perfect for simple things like shabby hearts and sock monkeys
The man on the stall was laughing though, he was letting his young daughter handle the sales while he unpacked the car and she was haggling with me like a pro :rotfl:

The finished chairs. My first SC project and I think I'm hooked!
It is a learning curve though. Now I'm constantly on the lookout for more bits to shabby up.0 -
Ooh just remembered, I know people keep a look out for materials and bits for SC, I got this in Argos yesterday, not the cheapest but certainly pretty and cheaper than paying by the metre in a fabric shop.
