You might be able to sand and paint as usual though - it says beech veneer - if it's a real wood veneer then you can treat it as usual, just be careful because it's thin.

    Thanks Lolly.:)

I will go and have a look at different primers today, to see what I can find.

I'm in Chepstow about 17 miles from Newport. Haven't been to Barry in years! It's a shame that the pleasure park has closed down, had lots of good days out there when I was young. Still my kids are very young and would be happy with a bucket and spade for a couple of hours to justify the trip lol!

Your about 20 miles from me :D Im in Marshfield. Hope you have a lovely day at the beach and good luck in winning the auction x

    Hey there,

An Oil based egg shell paint is what i used - i think i was recommended on here (Or i read it somewhere) Lots of the ladies on here swear by farrow and ball paints but they no longer make oil based paints. I went to a local DIY store and chose a colour from the samples and they mixed it up there for me (You can do this in B ad Q) I paid 12.99 for a 1.25ltr tin and i used just under half on my dresser. For a chair you mayb get away with a sample pot x

  • Hi peeps,

we are moving house soon and we plan to paint the oak kitchen cupboards cream.

Was thinking of using Farrow and Ball for this project as the French Gray Farrow and Ball paint was really easy to apply.

Does anyone know what type of cream Farrow and Ball paint would be best to use on the kitchen oak cupboards????:)

We used Homebase classic cream quick dry satin on our dresser and chairs and they have turned out great, it is also easy to work with! Its not too dear;)
