Hi everyone. I'm a long time lurker on this thread and am fired up with enthusiasm after reading about all the wonderful projects on the go! Just wanted to let you know that I was in my local B&Q in Paisley today and they had a load of Cath Kidston matt emulsion in the clearance section. it was 2.5 ltrs for £5. It is usually around £20. They had linen white (which I bought 5 of), aplke green and turquoise (1 got one). I plan to paint my daughters bedroom linen white with a giant turquoise circle amd then I'll put 4 cork pinboards in the circle and paint them turquoise too. Hope this helps someone and now I've registered and made this post hopefully I'll join in instead of just reading. xxx0

Just posting this here as I promised I would if it worked, Hart44 bought some coasters and I suggested laminating some fabric to put in, well I tried laminating fabric just to see if it worked and it did, I made these bookmarks with some offcuts of Cath Kidston cotton, I guess you could do placemats and all kinds this way:

This is a lovely thread and although I don't often sign in and post I have a nose most days:D
Wilkinsons currently have a lovely set of 5 stripey teatowels in strong pastel shades for £2.25 which I think would fit a chabby chic decor. I think I might make some into a tote bag.

Who was it who was asking about the Cath Kidston cake stands?
Went into a fantastic Shabby Chic shop in a nearby town and they had loads in there. I spoke to the owner and he told me Cath Kidston themselves had not got any - but he had got loads in before they ran out. I forgot to ask if they would post them out (don't think they do usually) - but it may be worth asking. I have their details if anyone is interested."Men are generally more careful of the breed(ing) of their horses and dogs than of their children" - William Penn 1644-1718

My first SC project. The ugly twin and her gorgeous sister.
I used 3 coats of a cheapy emulsion and a tester pot of Farrow and Ball in String. Now I know what all the fuss about F&B is all about, it's amazing stuff! I'm off to Homebase tomorrow to get some for the bathroom woodwork and the other chair.
Anyone know if John Lewis will sell half a metre of fabric insted of a full metre?
Loving everyone's makes. They are all gorgeous.0 -
My OH has threatened to take the laptop away from me 'cos I'm getting too many ideas - I've ordered some gorgeous stuff from Wysteria Lane, and keep showing him lovely things on 'shabby chic' sites
Incidentally, I can recommend Wysteria Lane, their customer service is excellent and conducted by personal messages, not just via automated email responses. When I emailed them to enquire how I activated their sign-up £10 gift voucher, I was told it had actually expired and they were unaware it still came up on the welcome email. However, I got a sweet apology and and my very own offer code to use on my order. How's that for online service?
Of course, it meant I ordered more than I should, but...:rotfl:0 -
