I know what you mean - I see all the gorgeous fabric around and think oh I wish I could make something with that - have even got a second hand machine - really old it is - and I once tried to make something - think I was a bit too ambitious though - I tired through choice to make a skirt - by heck it was hard - put myself off - yeas later I tried again = this time cushion covers - they were better - as long as you didnt look too close - lol - would love to learn though - just dont have time - like most things - aaagh - too busy on here maybe - hee hee

You know that little china bird that was on here on the bedroom shelf a few pages back (I am sorry I can't remember whose room it was in and I am too lazy/tired to hunt it out) well it is on the front page of Julys Ideal Homes Magazine that I bought today, its on the coffee table. I have a few of these and they are £1.50 - £3.oo from Wilkinsons, it made me smile.

Oooh that was my room :D

Theyre very pretty arent they :)

Surprised they put Wilko things on the front page! lol

That spice rack is SO cute Twinkle! Where did you get the spice jars from, are they CK?

And, oh, I wish I could sew. Unfortunately I was a tomboy at school and hated being forced to make a skirt, of all things. By the time I had made it, I'd grown too big to wear it!

Thanks !I think it was used as a jewellery box before.I brought the spice jars from habitat for 2.00 each. Then I decorated the lids using pva glue and the tesco rose paper napkins left over from the bathroom unit I did.
Until last month I hadn't used a sewing machine in 12 years!I was surprised at what I remembered once I realised the machine wasn't going to bite me thou!lol :rotfl:

Go dig out the book, you won't regret it!;)I have to admit there were several times when I didn't understand the step by step instructions (doh!)but I kept refering to the beginning of the book for guidance and it slowly began to make sense.I'm on my 3rd project in the book now and having great fun with it.:D

lol,my eldest is 4 in October and said her first swear word the other day.Yikes!I was upstairs, dropped something and said 'oh..... and then a little voice at the bottom of the stairs said 'c**p!I actually ignored her as I didn't want to give her attention 'cos of it.But secretly it did make me giggle.I am hoping that they don't grow up swearing like troopers as my hubby and me do are best not to swear, apart from that one that slips out every now and again.:p
