Crusty, you have been hard at work. Love the dresser, it's so pretty the way you've um, dressed it!
Claire gret bits from the boot sale. Tea cup candles sound adorable.
As promised the tray, sewing box and mugs...
Before and after...
My sewing box:
I painted the wicker on the tray with the CK paint and glued a Laura Ashley paper sample on top, I plan to give a few coats of varnish but it's quite wrinkly, any thoughts?
I'll do the box up another time as I think it will take me a while and it's not so awful that I need to do it straight away.
I ordered the lovely paper for the bathroom, I really can't wait!0 -

Sorry for loads of posts but I just had to let you know that I spoke to DH about the kitchen cupboards (he fitted dark doors a few years ago and I wanted to paint them cream). He agreed as long as it didn't look naff (I'm toning it down lol!)
Anyway I went to B&Q and picked up some cupboard paint, I was very tempted by the cheaper cream eggshell but with DH's words ringing in my ears I thought I'd better do it "properly".
I've done the first coat on one door and I can already tell that it is going to be so much nicer and brighter in there. I will of course update you when there is more to tell!0 -

Emuchops, it was really simple. I just popped the seatpad out from underneath the chair, leaving the original red cover on it and put it on the fabric, making sure the pattern was straight (ish!) turned it back over and stapled it down using a staple gun. The corners were slightly trickier but a bit of patience and it was all fine.
I'm not keeping that material on that one if I can get some CK material or similar for a reasonable price.
Crusty toenail, your dresser is gorgeous! I want to do that with my dresser but OH not convinced as yet .
Clair bear I was in Hobbycraft yesterday and they are selling Tala cookware repackaged in "retro" style. Think that measure was £8.99. I used to collect kitchenware and love all the originals.0 -
Hi all
I've been reading this thread all week, and, love the things you are painting.
I have a chair that I'd like to practice on, please could someone point me in the right direction of the posting of "How to paint.......etc"
I have bought a small tin of F&B in cream, but I need to know what to do after the sanding, and if I need to put protection over the F&B, as it will hopefully be an easy chair in the kitchen and get a lot of use.
Just wondered if there is a step by step guide somewhere on here?
Thank you in advance

Hi everyone
Some excellent finds on here... I REALLY love that dresser - would look fab in my living room.
I am so envious of all your painting... I always seem to get bad brush strokes when I paint wooden furniture. Any advice here, before I put down my brush for good? Is it the quality of the brush perhaps?
