hey guys! quick questions:
how much do I have to sand off the piece of furniture that I want to paint? just so that it is rough?
then do I need to undercoat it? or can I just paint it in eggshell?

Just sand it to roughen it up a bit then paint with your eggshell. You only need a primer if you're painting on bare wood.0
