Did ya make it?!!!
It must have taken hours and hours and each of those strips/squares will have been cut...mine is simple and easier as a starter!!
Mine is coming on and I now have about 8 strips sewn togeather...weezl helped work out if I have enough fabric and just need more calico it says so we shall see!! Am enjoying making it and quite chuffed that friends lesson worked and my squares are mostly nice and square!
Re the sewing machine try the free adds, freecycle and ebay for a cheapie...I got mine new and its a special quilting one but now realise that I dont need 70 stitches and have so far used 3! Although automatic button hole is fab!Did have to sacrifice a summer holiday for it though!

Pleased you love it cos it will have taken someone literally months to make...lots of cutting, sewing small picies, unpicking and checking. Only in starting to make a large and simple quilt do I begin to appreciate the time and patience that goes into an intricate one like yours!! You are blessed to own it and really pleased you love it so much! Mine is coming on and have now sewn about 12 strips accross and very chuffed that they are all pretty much in place/square...the odd one slighly missalighned but not bad for a first attempt. Am off tomorrow to get more calico, wadding and a border...will post update asap...Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Even in the darkest moments, love and hope are always possible.0 -

My house was mostly decorated in 70's style. Lots of brown slats on walls and ceilings. Including our toilet. And I was well and truly fed up.
So I painted it! Can't afford to have it all taken down and re-done so a coat of paint was going to have to take care of it. And guess what?.. it looks FAB!!
I even sewed some curtains to cover the window. We keep all the sanitary stuff on the window sill and I just didn't like the sight of those boxes of tampons and stuff sitting there.
I never thought to take a before picture so you'll just have to believe me when I say it was ghastly. It was all brown.... ick..
So here's what it looks like now.0 -
Very nice Becca, light and fresh looking, I love your wee curtains, you have done a great job!0

Today I found a Lloyd-loom chair like this http://www.comparestoreprices.co.uk/images/ll/lloyd-loom-the-original-lloyd-loom--burghley-armchair-with-skirt.jpg
for £8 in a charity shop:T:T:T
It really cheered me up as I was on the way to a hospital appointment at the time.
On the way back I found some Laura Ashley curtains with yellow roses, for £3, in another charity shop. :j
All I have to do now is decide what colour to spray the chair, at the moment it is a faded pinky/brown with a few smears of the gold still visible - too far gone to retain the original colour. I'll probably go for cream but quite tempted by greyishblue.I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
do post us some photos please, before and after sort of thing."The purpose of Life is to spread and create Happiness" :j0
