Oooh, remember these lovely cups from Wysteria Lane ~ well they reminded me of a coffee set I inherited from my DH's grandmother, so i dug them out from under my bed and I had forgotten how beautiful they are, I must find some stands to fit them and get them out on display:

Tara, step away from ebay lol! I think we need to have another election or something to consume your time. Maybe when you start working on your pine unit, you'll be too busy for ebay (heaven forbid ;) ). It IS pretty though :D.

I am so stupid. I just managed to bid on a miniature chest of drawers that I dont really want (also only realised the size AFTER I bid) and I only went and won the bloomin thing. Right I am banning myself from Ebay ( edit I even get facebook and ebay mixed up now!)

What a fabulous present. She is so cute.

I won this yesterday on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=250629095901&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT#ht_500wt_1182

I am planning to do a little paint job and maybe some decoupaging on it. Any ideas? My thoughts are that I will either do it up for my niece (7) as a littlle trinket box for her birthday or do someting with it as a little storage box in the kitchen. What kind of paper would you suggest ? I was thinking of something along the lines of paper napkins as they come in so many lovely colours.

That would look lovely in a pale colour with flowery paper.
There were some lovely wall paper samples going free a few pagesback ,you could get 6 at a time ,maybe enough to cover the little chest, different paper on each drawer, maybe.

I was thinking along the lines of what you said artydoll but I just went back and looked again and realised it is only 41/2 inches high HAHAHA!!!! I am so stupid. Oh well we live and learn!

Oh dear, never mind. You could still paint it though and use it more like an unusual ornament. Is your niece into cats or dogs? A little miniature sleeping cat/dog perched on top would be nice. Oh and maybe a scrap of pretty fabric underneath for a blanket :)

Well, this is my first post on this thread, but have just bought a secondhand wooden table and chairs. It'll definitely need sanding and painting, and with all the spindles, should be a long job. Still, i'm in no rush, so will do it as and when.
I also have a solid pine bookcase that I've had for about 12yrs now. Think I'll most likely sand and paint that too, to match the table and chairs. Not sure any of that makes me a shabby chicer though....I like ginghams and florals (always have done), but not everywhere :)
