    JC what a fantastic cushion and only an afternoon to finish it. Go you
    CGeorge No range near me (luckily) but they are so lush
    Polly - havent read prima for ages - I had forgotten all about it. Used to read it at my Nans and we would make things together from it. What are the cheques that they do?

    I got an old glass soda syphon at a charity shop today. I was wondering how/where one gets cartridges for them, and how likely I am to be able to get it working? It would look tres chic on a tray laid for drinks on a friday evening. do the old glass ones even use cartridges?

    i love the pale blue with pink flowers ( 3rd from top) how much is it per meter plz ?

    there isn't a range on the island. but have family on mainland so may have to ask a favour

    its deadly cheap, definitely less than £2 per metre (OH works there and says he will find out tomorrow!)

    hmmmn.... maybe worth buying some and bunging it on ebay, even with postage its a lot cheaper than the real thing... the CK oil cloth sample i have infront of me here (apple - stone) is £20 a metre!!!!!!

    Chin up Bibbitybob, you inspire us all so much that you deserve some good fortune, so will be sending some cornish sea air your way, My dream would be to have a camper of sorts, probably not a caravan as I couldn't reverse it properly hahaha!! but something shabby delicious so that me and my 2 girls and 3 sleepy pugs could all go away for weekends together, I keep looking on ebay for a project but way out of my price range, something in my mind keeps telling me that I will befriend someone who will eventually realise my desperation for a shabby wagon and allow me to have theirs to decorate and love and bring into our family Hahahah!! wishful thinking maybe, but everyone can dream eh!!! Haven't been doing much shabbying lately, I did a 3 and a half mile charity funrun with my 8 yr old daughter on Saturday and am struggling to stand up now let alone stand long enough to paint, I have managed to do 1 coat of primer on my delicious 2nd mirror but I think it's gonna need at least 3 coats as its a horrid plastic surround, but oh so decorative, can't wait to finish it and post pics. xx

    Don't worry m'dear, I'm not that way inclined! How about I offer free kid/dog/cat sitting in exchange for a sea view!?

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    In all seriousness, your location does sound idyllic. We used to visit Cornwall when I was a kid and I fell in love with the place. Haven't been for years. When I get my caravan and get it shabby chic-ed I'll convince OH he fancies a (long!) drive.

    I've been a bit down this week after the mortgage for the new house fell through, but it's looking like we've got another option so all may not be lost. Lots of good vibes and finger crossing please :o I've not really had the heart to do anything house or shabby chic related but hopefully once we've got the new mortgage in place we've been told we'd be looking at a 3 week completion :eek: best get packing!

    Do you have a gas cartridge already with your soda stream ? even empty?

    if so you can get a refillled bottle at asda % sainsbury for approx £4 (not exactly sure how much as it has been some time i renewed mine) You take your empty one in and exchange it for a full one at the normal checkout,ie take both your empty and the full one you pick from the shelf and the price is deducted from the total cost by handing over the empty,the gas is where the pop isle is.If you havnt an empty one to exchange then i am afraid you have to purchase the price of the cylinder aswell,quite pricey and more than £10 (again not sure exact).But after the initial first cost of the cyliner you will only have to pay the £4 ish refill price.

    hope ive made it clear,bit like what happens with calor gas bottle exchange.

    I'm also having trouble painting a table. I sanded it, used two coats of primer/undercoat and then a couple of coats of acryllic eggshell. Its wearing off really quickly though. Every time I put anything on it the paint chips and you can see the dark brown wood beneath. Do I have to varnish it and if so do they make matt varnish as i'm not sure I want it to be shiny. Have I done something wrong for it to be coming off so easily?

    I am about to paint my orangey pine dresser and am worried that the same will happen to it....... I hope someone can answer this soon!
