I reckon there's loads of shabby chic style stuff you could fit in, enamelware etc. Make sure you post pics when you're done!

Thriftkitten, I find blogger really easy to use.

Thank you :o the plastering course was off ebay, about £4.99 BIN if I remember rightly. Mr BB has become terribly clever at it now.

Thanks for advice on glue. I found PVA wrinkles have shrunk out (at least I'm crossing my fingers the rest will!) so will report back later. I like the idea of paste and roller though...what kind of paper does that work for?

ive used the watered down wallpaper paste on posters, magazine pages, quality wrapping paper, the A4 fancy crafty coloured sheets you get from hobby craft stores and scented draw liners lol.I mix the paste very thin, like you would for paper mache newspaper crafts.I roll up my sheet of paper, quick dunk in a tub, sink, bath of water to soften it (i read this bit somewhere) paste the item you want to cover rather than the paper itself, while you still have your paper in the roll place onto the surface and roll down inch by inch while smoothing with the wallpaper seam roller.

The gift wrap paper is to cover some plain white magazine holders I have, I can then keep my sewing books on the shelf neat and pretty

Thanks for the heads up - I got 2 sets of these today :T:T.

They also had the CK style cushions at £3 each - They are lovely and I was sooo tempted but have nowhere to put them (also OH has been made redundant so money is tight) so I left them :(:(.

    Fab buys honey.

Nearly bought a little chest of drawers on ebay just now...about 30 mins drive and a toll bridge away, the picture was terrible and it looked like they could have been less pretty than they looked through the blur. Outbid in the last 20 seconds....phew!

I finally got my sticking sorted, all dried flat. Should be able to finish two projects tomorrow so will put them up here and my blog asap. I'm loving how productive I've been lately, but feel like I'm working two full time jobs at the moment

Hi all, haven't been on this thread for a couple of days... so much chat to catch up on! I've spent the last half hour reading all the posts I've missed and looking at all your pics... ah it has done me the world of good! Your houses are all so lovely, you are such a creative lot. :D
I showed my DH this thread & the pictures and he hates the shabby chic look.
    I was alarmed..I am planning a lot of shabby-chicing!
I dont know where to start with undercoats and wax and such though.

Just do it anyway and try not to draw too much attention to it ha ha!!! :rotfl:
I was going to show my OH it last night but thought better of it for that exact reason, so instead I'm going to start sneaking little bits in slowly and hopefully he won't notice until it's too late :D It's not like he's interested in interior design anyway, everytime I ask him if he wants any say in how the house looks he sas he's not bothered so I've interpreted that as 'I can make it look how I want'

Claire Bear, snap!!! I don't really point out to my OH stuff I buy for the house, half the time he doesn't notice lol! :rotfl: I don't think he's that bothered, well I'm sure he thinks our house is turning a bit girlie but never mind. :)
OMG look what I have spotted on ebay, I just have to have this!!! but I bet it goes for more than 99p lol

Only £2.99, I literally skipped out of the shop with it! It is now on display in my living room. ETA: just found a pic of the cover! Swoon.
