My new Cath Kidston cupcake stand

I thought it was a bit of a bargain at £20 considering I've seen unbranded (and less pretty) ones for more than that. And this one is 3 tier
Not 100% sure what to use it for when its not got cakes on it though.. maybe jewellery?

Gorgeous cake stand Princess Vikki!!! Yes, jewellery would be perfect for it.

I was bidding on a stand on eBay that ended up going for over £30... I couldn't justify going that high so let it go, but really regret it as it was beautiful. I'll see if I can find a pic.

Tara, I believe that the seller makes those cake stands. I wanted a cake stand and had been belly aching at DH. I couldn't find an affordable one. Then I went to a charity shop and saw all of their plates and thought it would be a great idea to make your own. Just drill through the middle of your 3 plates with a tile cutting drill. So all I needed to find was where to get the cake stand fixtures from.
It took me a little while but I think that this was the site I saw? Not time to check now sorry, so I'll just link quickly >>>>>> http://www.chinapresentations.net/gbu0-catshow/cake-stand-fittings.html cheerio, Kaz.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0 -
can i ask plz, does anyone know where i can buy CK paint, or what is an equviallent make, and what varnish do i need?
i've seen on ebay a pretty painted clay flower pot , but thought i could make that. but i not sure where to get the paint.
also i want to paint some wooden knobs for my units in dining room. i was going to buy them but they are £1.99 each and i already have the wooden knobs, so again thought i'm sure i can make it.0 -

I think B&Q sell it, although never seen it in my local. The Craig & Rose website certainly does though, and you can get tester pots.
We used to paint flower pots with normal emulsion tester pots when I was little, then my Dad would varnish over the top. Otherwise, an oil eggshell would be hard wearing. In my experience, if it's going outside it will need re-painting next year anyway regardless of the paint you use because the frost will get to it.0 -
what do you put on a cake stand when its not in use?
well, i havent manage to find a suitable cake stand in my search (yet)
but i bought what i thought was the ideal thing to put ON said cake stand
i just dont know what to do with them to take a picture to show you
ermmmmmmmmmmmmmmm:(0 -
i looked on craig and rose website and it said it had no ck paints availble. perhaps i'll phone them. will have a look in b&q, thankyou.
is the varnish also a ck make ?0 -
forgot to add , the flowerpot will be kept inside. i only want a 2 or 3 inch one as it will be a new pen pot.
i may buy a couple and paint up for herbs or buy a couple of metal ones for kitchen windowsill tho, if the painting doesn't go well,lol.0 -
That CK cakestand is gorgeous

I have a small cream metal cake stand, think it'd be described as shabby/french style and when it not being used to hold actual cakes (twice a year for kids birthdays!) i have 3 Gisela Graham cupcake pin cushions on it and also 'gertie and marge', my chicken salt and pepper shakers lol. Hubby thinks i have serious issues cos i named my salt and pepper pots
