    I need some advice.

As some of you might know, I got diagnosed with depression just after Xmas. A load of my uni essays had to be put back until the summer because I couldn't get together the willpower to do them and I haven't managed to get another one done since. Sorting counselling out has been one problem after another so at the moment, I'm pretty much dealing with it on my own.

Looking back over my life, I've always been happiest when I'm out and about, doing things. When I'm sat at home, I get my low times and nothing gets done. I'm thinking of doing some volunteering which will really help with getting experience for the career I want after uni. However, I'm worried that if I take on other stuff, even if I think it would help me, I'll just wind up crashing and burning and nothing will get done. I'm already struggling with my workload as it is, because of having no motivation. That would suggest that taking on more is a very bad idea.

What do you guys think? Should I take on something else to try to motivate myself more and get a sense of achievement or should I try to concentrate on what I have to do as it is?

Hi kayleigh, having suffered myself and am coming out of darkish period in my life too, I would say yes doing what makes you feel good allied with any medication can only be a good thing.

    Bookie's been very MSE tonight.
Found some sprouting spuds under the sink, boiled and mashed them all. Half has gone onto a Shepherd's pie which is now browning in the oven. The rest will go with some liver and bacon tomorrow.

I used half a tin of baked beans in the pie and, instead of binning them. I've put them in the fridge to bin at a later date.

My usual drop in friend, DD and fiance arrived for beer, gin and wine on the deck but I refused to put the patio heater on as it was windy and a waste.

How good am I? Am I catching on at last? :rotfl::rotfl:

    You ok Sammy?

    Evening all!

Went for a run tonight and got a cramp in my calf. Ouch. Then got a bit of a woblle on and went all funny. Not nice.

Kayleigh-I think doing some volunteering sounds like a brilliant idea sweetheart. Wanna come look after my 2? lol

Only saying it because it is so very rewarding and you don't have to get in as deep as me! I have made some lovely friends who have, and still are, seen me through some very dark times.
