Hi,
Haven't posted anywhere but the daily thread for ages.
After hearing so much about Freecycle on here, have tried to join two local groups on their website and sent emails off etc but have had no response.
I'm a bit cheesed off actually but not sure where to go next, would really like to get involved but don't seem able to!!
Thanks

I think there's some stuff on this in the green board, so I'll move your thread over there. Hopefully you'll get plenty of answers.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0

When did you try to join? Most freecycle groups have things set to 'moderated' so the group owner has to manually approve joiners. Which takes time
I'd say click the 'goto' links instead of the 'join' links, go to the yahoo page and join that way.0 -
Hi,
Thanks for the response. First time I tried was months ago so I would have expected a response by now and then lastw week again.
Will try the goto links.
Many thanks

Hello, I need some advice please. I recently responded to an "OFFER" post on my local freecycle. The poster was offering two items, of no saleable value, but useful to me. I sent a friendly, polite email explaining why I thought the items would be useful. I have not had a reply, and there has not been a post saying that the items have been taken. I responded to the post about a week ago. I expected to wait a couple of days - is it normal to wait this long? Should I email again or will they think I am hassling? Do most people post a "TAKEN" or are we just left to wonder?0

I have to admit that i leave people to wonder sometimes. I get so many replies to things that I dont get time to reply to them all..... and then sometimes I forget to put a 'taken' post.
What REALLY annoys me is people sending me a second email.... I tend to delete both emails from them.2012 wins approx £11,000 including 5k to spend on a holiday :j0 -

Hi angel- I don't knnow what you emailed, but if it was your 1st time, you have to post an offer instead of an 'I want' first. Hope this helps."If you realized how powerful your thoughts are, you would never think a negative thought." ~ by Peace Pilgrim.***'You just got Tiffed!'***0 -
I have had a lovely freecycle day! I offered a battery charger, scalextric, jigsaws, record player, videos and more. Most of the things have now gone to their new homes and I got a new fridge freezer given too....it is now prechilling ready to look after my wine box.
I really like the freecycling as I have made friends through it and even went to their little ones birthday party the other week which to me is what it is really about..."COMMUNITY!"The best bargains are priceless!!!!!!!!!! :T :T :T0 -
