HI, yes on our freecycle you put eg OFFERED: whatever you have- postcode
then in the description put that someone needs a car etc to move it, there is a different board for each area to keep it local, - Burnley and Pendle are quite an active group, we either like to save money or hate to throw things awayu, not sure which

Absolutely Sue ~ I would think most people would expect to pick up the item themselves, although some do say that in their message.

I would definitely go ahead with it. We got rid of two old large pc monitors that I thought would be cluttering up the spare bedroom forever! I posted and two hours later they were gone ~ like magic :D

That's a shame. My advice would be to talk to the people beforehand, and let your instincts judge whether they are genuine.

I've given away half a dozen items and never had a problem.

Right, thank you all for the replies, sorry if I hijacked your thread OP. OH is on holiday next week, think I'll make a list of anything we need rid of and see if we can get rid of it this way. He's got some old pc stuff he can list as well, I hate throwing stuff away if I think someone else can use it, but dont have a car to carboot it, so this has to be the next best thing.

I have recently discovered Freecycling. It is the ultimate in recycling. Wasn't sure what board to put this in as it could go in several. I recommend everyone join there local group. I am lucky as wheere I live I have 4 groups I belong to. It's a great way to get rid of things you don't want and them not ending up in landfill. It is also good for getting things that you may not be able to afford. ie Our sky digi box has been playing up for months and I got one from one of the freecycle groups I belong to and am now watching tv pixelation free.

If anyone thinks I should put this on another board please let me know.
