i just found this forum. i had 2 hotels booked with xcape with us .1st i had paid in full , 2nd the balance was due off on 3rd may(how lucky) i paid with visa debit i went into my bank yesterday ( bank of scotland) they knew nothing about visa debit chargeback didnt think it existed so lucky i had took a newspaper article in i found online. they looked into it they filled in a non fraudulant claim form for me. the money should be in my account within 2 weeks :T they looked back on statements and i had to print of the my booking now it says will not be honoured. good luck to evryone. i have also rebooked with the hotels direct safest option at the moment i think

Andrew Miles' name and email does appear on the ResortHoppa aboutus page. But this does not mean he owned the company - I can;t find anything linking him to it on Google. ResortHoppa was sold to LowCostBeds in January 2009.

blacknred, how did you do the reverse whois lookup to find the 43 domains?

Would anyone happen to jnow who the booking agent in Ibiza is for Xcapewithus please?
I turned up to my hotel to be told reservation had been cancelled and I had to pay again for myself and my daughter. Hotelier said that he had had a fax cancelling my booking due to the collapse of Xcape and yet when I said I'd go to internet cafe to re book through Travel Republic he said that that would be no good because central booking office was closed due to four day long Fiesta!

Bit strange then that he had had a fax from the "closed" office that very morning. Just wondering if he cashed in thats all.

    Thanks in advance

One more thing, I purchased holiday insurance from Asda at a cost of approx £30 for five days. I thought that it would be much better cover than some of the cheaper deals but it appears that I was not covered for such an event as company collapse.........

yvonneem, On your voucher there will be a reference number saying something like "booked and payable by XXXXX" - XXXX is the company it was originally booked with but becasue Xcape didn't pay them they don't pay the hotel and your booking is cancelled.

I am afraid the only option you had was to persuade the hotel management to give you the room at the same rate as you bought it from Xcape. Trouble is your voucher wouldn't have stated that figure, only your invoice would have and you probably didnt have that with you.
