I heard some negative tales of customer service and customers being moved from their chosen and booked hotel to A.N.Other - complaints to the company resulting in a "read the Ts and Cs of booking" response.
Having said that they are in ABTA and IATA and the complaints I have heard may simply be down to the fact that they have so many customers - some are bound to be unhappy and complaints are easier to remember than praise!!What do people think about travel republic ?0 -
This happen to me we are due to go to Majorca tomorrow on the 4th May booked with Xcapewithus 6 weeks ago got Ref Number alsoNumber for Jumboonline who they booked with checked hotel yesterday and guess what no Holiday someone had canceled from Xcapewithus or Jumboonline lost 529 pounds had to book again with hotel. Cannot get money back from bank as paid with debit connect card not barclay card. What a firm this is not good enough sent loads of e mail to claims dept but no reply as yet .0

Is the debit connect card a VISA debit card? If so all may not be lost. Apply for a VISA chargeback through your bank. This requests VISA to refund you where a supplier has not provided goods and services you have paid for. If you search this site you'll find various threads on this scheme.0

Dear Sir:
It was Xcapewithus that made the reservation in our system called "Olympia Online". This system stays to disposition of touroperators and agencies on line only, like Xcapewithus. We do not work with private clients.
Unfortunatelly your reservation hasn't been paid to us and the status of this reservation is "Cancelled".
If you are interested to make the reservation again at the hotel XXX from XXX until the XXX, it is necessary the reservation is paid again and booked through another company.
If you need information about trustable Companies that can make for you the reservation, I would be very pleased to send you a few and its addresses.
We feel really very sorry for the inconveniences but you should claim in England for a compensation of the paid ammount.
Whatever you may need, we will kindly stay to your disposition.

Hello.
I have also been captured. I paid the balance on 21st April......sighs.
Anyway I have just checked 'My booking' which was blocked earlier. It now shows my booking details and that the status is 'pending information from supplier'. So at least something seems to be happening.
I have also emailed the hotel in English and Spanish, (that was a challenge!) using google translator, ( good job it's in Spain!) asking for an update, and sent a message to my bank as an early warning of a possible claim. If nothing happens in a couple of days I will let my insurance company know.
It may be worth checking the site again. Some of you may get good news, some probably won't.
If it goes horribly wrong I will either find something when I get there or re book with Travelrepublic. They seem to have good cover in the event of a company going bust, but I'm not sure about their own company!

Good company. Company of choice for my bookings unless I'm booking with Thomson.
They have a protection package in place (in case airline or hotel goes bust), which is free:

I just checked the My Booking of Xcapewithus for a client who is currently in Portugal. The system says 'pending information from supplier' even the supplier (Transhotel) cancelled the booking on April 30th.
I hope the online system will be updated soon for the other bookings that we made.
arrowman, I would be very surprised if Hotelbeds deal with any clients who call them direct. They are a B2B company who don't have the call centre staff to handle these calls. By all means try but don't feel put out if they don't offer any help.0 -
xcapewithus used hotelbeds online and the booking was amde by hotels beds online and i still have the two rooms - but when i explained whats going on the hotel told me to ring back after they checked with hotelbedsonline that payment will eb made.
i rang back: hotelbeds cancelled rooms becuase xcapewithus wont pay up. so i haev lost my holiday!!!!
